Blogs as a Marketing Tool

Blogs are an efficient modern-day marketing tool. I examine the benefits and drawbacks of blogs for this purpose and discuss how they have evolved.

Let me start by explaining what a blog is. It is defined as a website where entries are written in chronological order and commonly shown in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. Blogs serve as a place for users to make comments and to invite readers to pass on their comments too.

Blogs were once thought-out to be the area of all that is not corporate, are now soon catching up to be an obligatory marketing tool. They have become a way of promoting just about anything whether it may be public relations, marketing a new product, improving brand image and for research. Blogs are the order of the day.

Blog achieves the goal of growing a business because the company expands as it caters to online customers who may come across it. This is cyberspace in addition to any offices and factories that it may have. Blogs are a great way of promoting a business in that it can help in interacting with users and display their feedback. Thereby when other people view any testimonials made by customers like themselves they will be satisfied that the company is serving its clients well and listening to their needs.

People can look through blogs at their own leisure. They can revisit the blog by pasting the URL onto their web browser. This is a form of advertising and it is excellent because it will be sought by customers when they seek to visit it again and again. This is better than in the orthodox way where by TV or radio, the ad needs to reach the consumers.

Blogs are low cost way of marketing and it requires little or no cost at all. Multiple times consumers may view it but the blog administrator does not have to be burdened with expenses. The blog can be changed and edited at will to suit the different tastes and fashions that keep coming up from time to time.

The effect is commanding viral marketing with blogs linking to other blogs. The real value is things that you don't expect. From one perspective, the amount of people companies end up talking to and doing business with just simply in appreciation to a blog is amazing. Producers in Hollywood. People from publishing companies in the States. Everyone is alerted and almost anyone seems to identify with this new development. People who in another time without this network would never been able to correspond.

There is a variety of information available in these blogs. Real time concerns by big time CEOs, now that's what the internet was invented for! Successful marketing through blogs creates or enters an area of interest where readers are caught up in the use and means of a product or service. Blogging flickers interactive messages by means of low-cost self-publishing and syndication of substance. Blogwriters who believe they can sell musings by payment have been let down, and companies that have used blogs to sell overtly and generated interest.

People are now involved in developing their own blogs to talk up and as a result add value to their own products and services and also by using other people's blogs to promote or discuss them. However, not all companies have actually worked out how to use blogs effectively yet.

Blogs are a profitable idea of formerly hard to get impending insight from CEOs, marketing guru's and others who are never used to having a public forum. These business leaders are making the most of the internet to put into words their personal thoughts on happenings in their industry and life. They are blogging for the same reasons they do public speaking, to build trustworthiness for themselves and boost up their company's credentials. Blogging has become a new less time consuming and less expensive way to reach potential and current customers.

Well, its not always biting commentary, but it is entertaining and in the end it's marketing. Possibly, the most prevailing type of corporate marketing per rupee spent ever imagined.
