How to Upload Photos to a Wordpress Blog

Use Photos to Enhance Your Blog with these simple tips.

Adding photos to a blog can help to illustrate a point or a story. Not only do photos add visual interest to a blog, but photo sharing can also help to reinforce a point that you are trying to make in a blog.

WordPress is one of the most popular blogs online today. WordPress blogs can be easily integrated into a variety of different types of Web sites and have a strong social network of other WordPress bloggers. Here are some tips to help you with your photo sharing on your WordPress blog.

First, in order to add photos to a blog, you have to be a blog administrator or writer of the blog. Therefore, you must own or write for a blog in order to add photos to it.

Once you've logged into your blog via the admin log in, click on "Write" at the top of the page. Here's a screenshot of what the page might look like:

Fill in your blog post in the appropriate fields, such as "Title," "Post" and "Tags" and scroll further down the page until you get to a section that looks like this:

This is the section where you can upload a single photo or document, a video, and even a slideshow of multiple photos.

When you click on the "Browse" button next to the "File" field, a new pop-up window will appear on your screen, similar to this one:

Find the photo or document that you wish to upload to your blog from these files and click on it. When you have found the proper photo, click "Open" and the file name will appear in the file window of the WordPress blog, ready for photo sharing.

Next, add a title and description to your photo. If you use a person's name for the description, the image of that person will appear in Google image search results for that person.

In order to complete the photo sharing upload process, simply click on "Upload" and your photo will appear in your blog.

Also, keep in mind that you cannot upload more than a total of 3 gigabytes of images or video to your WordPress blog total. You will be able to tell how much of this quota you are filling up by observing the percentage indicator that is located beneath the Description field in the Upload section.

Now that you have the basics steps to add photos and other media to your blog, you can start to add visual enhancements to each of your posts. Enjoy photo sharing with your blog!
