So you want to be an successful blogger? You want to be one of the highly paid Metabloggers, but you have just realized there is one problem, nobody reads your blog.

You may heard or more probably read that everywhere present fraze “content is king” and you understand you have to produce great blog posts to be able to make money online. You have made important decision to do just that! You will write original and interesting articles, you will put some ads on your blog sidebars and when traffic come pouring in big numbers you will make your visit card with your name on it and occupation - professional blogger. But something went wrong.

There are more blogs than bloggers

One of the reasons why nobody reads your blog is a purely mathematical problem. You have to realize, there are more blogs than bloggers out there. Many bloggers have several blogs. Successful blogs are often built after five or ten or even more unsuccessful ones. The rejects are abandon by their authors, but almost always they stay around, present in blogosphere. Even then, they also attract readers in certain amounts. More blogs means less chance for you to get visitors.

Just writing is not enough

You can write better than Nobel Prize winners, but if nobody knows about your work, you won't profit from it. It means that “content is king, but it's not enough”. Another reason why nobody reads your blog is that nobody knows about it. Social networks and web services like Digg, StumbleUpon, Technorati, BlogCatalog, Thoof and many others can help you make your blog and articles available to wider audience. If you write quality content, web communities will recognize your talent, you will get more exposure and more traffic.

Write for wider audience

You may be expert in astronomy and black holes and you may write excellent stuff about it, but if only few people understand your writings, you will not get far. The key is to write for wider audience. Your ultimate goal should be attracting more regular readers who will find your blog interesting over and over again. If your blog topic is too narrow, your chances to get people to read your blog will be smaller too.
