Internet Scams! How to Avoid Them

There are opportunities as well as scams on the net. You should be able to avoid the scams.

The Internet has come with a lot of opportunities for everyone, for both good and bad people. The good people do what is genuine to earn money the right way on the net. However, the bad ones are also there looking for innocent and gullible people to exploit.

This has led to the proliferation of get rich quick schemes that promise instant wealth. Creators of such schemes are aware of the facts of our society today; people want instant money and are ready to jump at the least opportunity. However, most of these get rich quick schemes end up in scams and those who fall victim to them regret.

A lot of them are actually single or two page sites with very attractive graphics and sometimes convincing audio testimonies. They promise you huge returns very fast and charge a fee from you. The greed of earning big and fast make many inexperienced people pay up only to discover that they've been fooled. Many sites promise payments which they never give.

It is impossible to do business online without having some faith. To purchase anything we must have faith in a site to pay by credit card, bank transfer or paypal or any other online system. But never try it till you get enough Internet experience. Do not reveal your address, phone numbers, credit card numbers or banking passwords to any site or person on the net till you are sure it is genuine. Revealing simple information like your name, qualification, profession, age, location will not do any harm. Actually these are necessary for good community feeling.

The little internet experience I have can help me judge an email without opening it to know whether it is sincere or a scam. When it is too good to be true, advise yourself. Most of these come as data entry jobs. But the question you ask is why should someone ask you to pay for the job you will do for him? If the money from the job is very big, why will he/she not wait for you to be paid before he asks for payment? Or why will such people not take money from the job owners for helping recruit workers?

Genuine money comes through hard work. If you avoid this basic truth you will find yourself in a very big mess. Some of these people will hack into your account and take your hard earned money one they get to know your credit card number.

Wise up my friend!!

Hello Kwashie!

As this blog regards topics about spam, internet safety, and online security, we would like to let you know about our new online service, OtherInbox.

OtherInbox is the cure for email overload - it provides consumers with a free email account (username.otherinbox.com) that automatically organizes newsletters, social networking updates, coupons and receipts from online purchases so that its easy to find the most interesting things and ignore the rest. OtherInbox shows the consumer who is really responsible for sending them spam and gives them a powerful new Block button to stop it once and for all.

Recently, we had the opportunity to be apart of the TechCrunch50 conference in San Francisco earlier this month. It was a great forum to launch our new service to the public and we were really honored to be chosen to participate. We’d like to personally invite you to join our private beta that we announced at the conference, and we’re happy to extend the invitation to your readers as well! Because we’re in private beta, you need to have a special URL to sign up. This URL will work for 26 invitations (one for you and 25 for your readers):

We would really love for you to take a look at OtherInbox and post your thoughts through your blog.

Please let us know if you have any questions about the service. Thanks again!
