Why not make a little extra cash on your site? Whether it is for a business, or just for fun, add a few sidebar links from Google and other affiliates. A few clicks here and there by your visitors adds up quickly. You have nothing to lose. But where do you start? Here are my three best recommendations.
Recommendation #1
The best place to start is Google AdSense. Setting up an account is quick and easy for anyone. Include these AdSense for content and for search options on your web pages, blogs, and anywhere you can think of.
Recommendation #2
Another good place to searh for affiliate links that are applicable to your site is: www.affiliatefirst.com . Get $10 per lead for apartments, 10% per real estate sale, and so on. Search by category to add listings based on home and garden, food, arts, hobbies, office, business, accessories, games, shopping and so on.
Recommendation #3
My third recommendation is earning 4% referral rates on amazon.com . Again, you can specify the content of your site to get the best results for your viewers. It took me less than five minutes to sign up for this and have the link on my page!
Conclusion
In general, look for the obvious—where people go most. Amazon and Ebay are very commonly viewed sites. Go to the sites you use most regularly and see if they offer an affiliate program. Links are usually found at the bottom of the page in small print.
My last bid of advice, is never overlook where your affiliate links can be used. When you're writing your blog and talk about Rachel Ray's cookbook , put a direct affiliate link to that book on amazon. When you're posting a comment on someone's myspace page and you refer to the new Apple iPod , make it dynamic! By adding an affiliate amazon link to the word iPhone, anyone who clicks on that and then buys an iPod gets you a percentage return!
Think outside the norm.
