In this article I will go through 5 of the offline promotional methods that have worked best for me.
One of the best ways that I find generates a lot of traffic for my website is the use of decals, and stickers on my car. Obviously you don’t want to go overboard with this because it could look pretty bad, but I have found that a simple url and site name on the back windshield and along the back panels have brought me great results.
Another great way to generate traffic to your website is to create a bunch of pamphlets or flyers that explain what your website is about and then go around your community and put these flyers in mailboxes. You can also take these flyers to the malls and shopping centers and hand them out to people as well.
This method kind of ties into the above method, but another great idea is to create some business cards. Take these business cards to different places around your community with bulletin boards and post a few of them on each board you come across. You can also hand them out to people, or even out to businesses that are relevant to your website content.
Advertising your website on clothing is another great way to promote your website. Think about all the people you see on a daily basis, all of these people could be potential customers if they knew about your website, and saw what you had to offer. This can get a bit expensive but the benefits can and most of the time does outweigh the costs.
Everybody that lives in a community whether it be small or large has events that need sponsoring, I have found that one of the best ways you can get noticed is to be a sponsor of one of these events. Not only do you get your name posted all over the place, and mentioned in front of hundreds maybe even thousands of people, but sponsoring events also shows good character.
There are tons of ways to advertise and promote your website offline that can be just as effective as some of the online methods. The thing to remember is that sometimes you have to invest money in order to make money.
