Squidoo's objective is to make $100 million dollars to charity. It's an ambitious project that is going very well. Squidoo already has almost 600k lenses and this number is growing day and night.
You as a Lensmaster should know how to make the most of Squidoo, after all at least 5% of all your income goes to charity and the kids really need the money. The first thing you need to know is what people are looking for when they visit your lens and what kind of people visit it. 90% of the people that searches the Internet are looking for very specific information and not any random subject like in the webportals. They know exactly what they want and so you need to know exactly what they want to please them and to make them buy your Squidoo Stuff. To have a good idea of what costumers are looking for you need to use one tool: Google Trends. This tool shows you what the users are looking for. Use it to your advantage. The most searched terms are: Jobs, Business, Money, Health and Career. Make lens about these subjects to have access to the biggest number of possible visitors.
Now you must understand that there are two types of visitors. One is the occasional visitor that comes through Google or any other engine, the other are all Squidoo users that spend all day looking for Squidoo Lens. The most important ones are the second ones since they are the ones that know the system inside out and are more likely to purchase anything. Concentrate all your efforts in ranking high by providing a lot of useful content and Lens navigation. Try to use at least 2 of each Squidoo Module.
To monetize it to the fullest I recommend you to use very cheap Amazon products since they are bought instantly unlike eBay that the buyer has to wait until the bid time end. iTunes music sells very well too specially if your Lens is about music. Never use expensive products since it cuts all impulsive buyers and Internet users are very impulsive since they can change their minds very quickly because there is so much fish in this huge sea.
Good luck and happy Squiding!
