How To Make Money on EBay

Here are all the things you will want to know before you start buying and selling on eBay. Learn all the secrets to making money quick and easy totally free.

Make An Account

To make your account you will need to go to www.ebay.com . Once you are there look at the top left corner of you screen. It should say, Welcome! Sign in or register . You want to click on the register link. Fill in all the required information then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the blue register button. The last thing you need to do is to go to your email and look for the email sent to you by eBay and click the “activate now” button. Now you have your own e B a y account, but you still need to be able to circulate your money through Pay Pal . After you clicked on the “activate now” button, you should have gone to a new web page with two options on it. Scroll down to the second option and click the button that says sign up for Pay Pal and make your own Pay Pal account. Now you are ready to start buying and selling.

10 Key Points on Selling

  1. No Reserve Auctions

For maximum profit potential list all your items in the low priced, no reserve auctions. The first bid is the most important because people are more likely to bid on items that people have already bid on. These no reserve auctions will draw those bidders right in because of the low starting price. A common first-timer mistake is to put a high reserve on an item and either get bids that don't reach the reserve price or have no bids at all. It is a good thing to have buyers on your side. If you price your items fairly, buyers will keep on coming back.
  2. Fair Shipping Costs

You can always use the free e B a y shipping calculator to see how much it is going to cost YOU to ship the item to your buyer. The reason for the shipping cost is to get the money you paid to ship the item back from the buyer. This is a place where you can squeeze in some extra cash, but be careful, buyers can look up the shipping prices the same way you can and if your item's shipping price is listed as double what it costs to actually ship that item than the buyer is more than likely not going to want to bid on your item. Remember that the buyers are trying to get good deals as well, but the money will come from people fighting to get your item.
  3. Accept All Payment Options

The worst thing that could happen to you is to have a buyer that is going to bid on one of your items but they cant do it because the way they would choose to pay you isn't an option. 3 out and 4 buyers will pay through PayPal and you already have a Pay Pal account so this is a great payment option. You want the least amount of reasons possible for a person not to bid on your item, and this is surely one of them.
  4. Specialized Item Title

I cannot even explain to you how crucial this is; key words and correct spelling can be the make or break in you selling your item. When people look up items to buy they are going to spell the words correctly. If your items title is spelled, “Bran New 9170's car”, and you mean to type in “Brand New 1970's car”, every time a potential buy types in 970 or car, your item should have showed up, but because you spelled it wrong it is never going to show up at all. Key words are so important as well. Use specific key words so you item will appear closer to the top of a person's buying list. Do your best to make a title that will pull a person closer to reading more about your item.
  5. Well Written Item Description

Your items description should be clear, concise, and as easy to read as possible. Use color, picture, bullets, different font sizes, and well organized paragraphs that will keep the reader interested. Make sure that your written description is an accurate one. Give lots of information about your item and certainly don't lie at all. This is where you will make your money so spend lots of time on this step and make your items description as good as it can be. The better your description is the better your chances are of the reader bidding on item.
  6. Include Photos

Photos are incredibly important to a buyer. It gives them a great idea of what they could possibly be trying to buy where as if you didn't have a photo than the reader would have to believe everything you wrote in the description. Research shows that items with photos sell 10% more than items without photos and sell for a 12% higher overall price. Make sure your photos are nice and clear and try to show your item from a few different angles so that the potential buyer can get a good idea about what to expect of your item.
  7. Communicate With All Possible Buyers

Don't be afraid to give out your Email address so that you can communicate with your buyers; list it right after your description. If buyers do ask you questions through Email be sure to send them back a nice response to their question as soon as possible. This will leave them with a good impression of you as a seller. Maybe you can even hand write a letter of thanks to a person who has bought one of your items when you ship that item to them; this will make the buyer feel special and maybe intrigue them into buying more of your items.
  8. Get Free Shipping Supplies

USPS gives out all kinds of free shipping supplies that can be shipped directly to your household free of any charge. After your sales you can go online and print out postage and labels and set up a date for your item to be picked up by a carrier. Make things as easy for yourself as possible. Maybe save a little money as well. It saves a trip to the postage office as well.
  9. Establish Yourself as A Professional

Don't be afraid to create search engines that will send people to your eBay items. Your advertising could easily catch some peoples eyes as well. Be willing to try anything. You can create a My World or an All About Me page to attract possible buyers. Feature your top selling items. All of this is free and easy to do.
  10. Advertise Your Other Items

Under the description of every one of your items you should advertise your other items. Maybe someone will be interested in buying that item as well and then you've got two sales out there. All these little extra things take extra time to do but if you want to become rich than they can pay off big. You can always do more to better your odds of a sale. Never stop trying, with experience success is sure to come.

Key Buying Points

Becoming a good buyer takes a lot of experience and takes a vast knowledge of how much things are worth. If you are determined to find good deals and are willing to spend lots of time looking for them, I can assure you it will pay off. But it takes a whole lot of time to find one of those realy good deals out there. But once you find one you can buy it for a real cheap price and go ahead and resell it for a big profit. Do your homework people, it is better to learn by do your homework than by losing lots of money.
