How to Earn Money on the Internet

Making money online is a tricky business. Contrary to popular belief, it truly does take a lot of time, effort, and hard work.  But this is a business anyone can get into, and be successful at. 

First and foremost money seekers, be aware of scam sites! Most sites that claim to be able to make you rich overnight are scams. Any website that wants upfront money and promises a huge cash return is most likely a scam. You can earn money on the internet without investing a dime. It will take some hard work, a lot of patience, and a bit of sweat, but it will happen for you.

The first thing you need to decide is how you'd like to earn the money. You can take surveys, which will take up quite a bit of time, but usually have decent payout. Or you can join a PTC (Paid To Click) site that offers pennies for clicking on ads or websites. You could join a site that pays you for writing articles or stories, such as Triond, Helium, or Assosciated Content.  There are thousands of opportunities, you just need to find the ones that are right for you.

Once you've decided which route you're going to take, or perhaps you'll do a bit of everything at first, then you have to find the correct sites to join. Even the free to sign up sites can be scams, so be leary. Do a bit of research. Join a community of other money seekers for advice. A great social community to join for beginners would be Mylot. Not only do they pay you to start and respond to discussions, you can also get plenty of information from veteran money makers, most of which have plenty of experience with any site you may have questions about.  A rule of thumb I always try to follow is to never join a website unless it gets some good reviews from fellow money seekers.

Before you join any site you should be sure to read the Terms of Use, and any guidelines they have available. This will not only inform you about the rules and regulations, and give you an idea of the things you should not do if you don't want your account deleted, but it will also show you the fine print of whether or not you can truly earn money from this site.

Your next step should be to join as many sites as you can handle. Whether it be a few of each kind of money opportunity, or a bunch of the same, the more sites you join, the better chance you'll have of earning money. Watching pennies add up on one site can seem to take forever, but add it to the pennies building up on your twenty other sites, and you've got a fair bit of income rolling in.

Then of course there's getting referrals. This is the hardest part for any money maker. There are websites to help you such as GetRef, but I've found through my own experience that these referrals only signed up to get credits and never bothered actually earning on my sites. Traffic exchanges are a way of getting your websites or referral links seen, but rarely did it work out for me. Surfing the traffic exchanges for credits was more of a waste of time than anything else, in my own opinion. What I found the most useful was my socializing networks, such as Mylot and Yuwie. Everyone on the site is there to make money, so this is your target audience.  Just make sure that you're promoting your sites in a way that is allowed by the website's guidelines and TOU.

My final word of advice to all you novice money seekers is patience. This is key to any successfull online earning endeavor. It can be disappointing when the money is not rolling in as quickly as you expect, but giving up will not make it roll in any quicker. Remember, hard work and perserverance pays off. Stick with it, and you'll be earning extra money like a pro before you know it.
