The internet can be extremely exhausting when page upon page is being read just to find one quote, or one tidbit of information. Thankfully, search engines such as Google, allow endless possibilities to what can be accomplished with the internet. Not only can the internet be utilized for work purposes, but also for personal leisure. It seems as if there are hundreds, if not thousands of search engines to choose from, but which one is right for you? Well, you see, Google is not just a search engine. It is an online, interactive, playground, shall we say, for anyone, of any age, with any level of computer skills. Not only can you search the web with using Google, you can also "Explore the world from your PC," "Search TV programs and videos," or even “Search and personalize your computer!”
With all these services available, it may seem somewhat intimidating to the person who only uses the computer every now and then. However, there are many helpful, easy to learn tips that can make your internet search faster, more exact, and overall, less stressful. For example, when “apple” is typed into the search box, and you push that search button…BAM! Now you have 944,000,000 results that you could read through! However, not too many people have that much free time on their hands, so what is there to do? Advanced Search is the answer, a feature that I commonly find extremely helpful. By clicking the Advanced Search link to the right of the search box, you are brought to a new page, with endless way to refine, and make your results become more exact. However, even this can be a little overwhelming, so go ahead and click the Advanced Search Tips link in the upper right hand corner. This will quickly clear up any confusion brought about by advanced search. When completed filling out your new search requirements, you will realize that not only have you found what you need, but you have found it in a quick, and stress free way, which seems most important in our daily lives.
However, there are also plenty of ways to not only learn new things with Google, but to also enjoy your free time. Free services such as Froogle, Google Video, and Google Earth allow everyone of all ages to get a chance to do some bargain shopping, laugh at some hilarious video clips, or even explore the world from your own computer.
