Steps
- Go to CNET Download. Then click on Antivirus, Firewall, & Spyware
- After that, click Firewall Software
- Click on All licenses and then select Free. Click Filter
- Look for a firewall with good ratings and download it
- Now you need an antivirus software. A good free one that I know of is AVG Antivirus. Click Antivirus Software
- Click on All licenses and then select Free. Click Filter
- Look for an antivirus software with a good rating. I recommend AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition
- All you need to do now is install a pop up blocker if you don't already have one. Pop ups may contain viruses and other unwanted things
