You have all most probably been sold some internet security package what is probably worse than what you can get for free. If you want good free internet security just follow these steps which include guides to getting free firewalls, anti-virus and spy ware software.
First we will start with a firewall which for those of you who don't know acts like a shield against hackers and viruses. The best free firewall around in my eyes is the zone alarm free edition. Now for the virus protection. For those of you who don't know virus protection is a piece of software which helps you deal with any viruses which get past your firewall. The best free one around for me is AVG free edition which I personally have relied on for many years. Once again it is a simple friendly piece of software and is free!
Now for the spyware protection. Now for those of you who don't know spy ware basically gets on your computer and then steals personal information about you i.e. passwords, bank account details. For me personally there is only one true free spy ware protection out the and that is spybot search and destroy. This software has protected me for many long years now and I think you will find it very useful to have. Many people only have virus protection but me personally think spy ware is a big issue and needs to be protected against.
