Warning: Scam Emails

Ssome examples of bad emails and the possibility of letters you might get in your mailbox.

Read this before you accept that next online job offer, or that huge chump of cash they
claim you have won from some lottery in another continent.

There are these emails going around asking you if you would like to become an online book-
keeper for them. This is how it works, they claim to be a textile or maybe a clothing company
from another country, usually the UK, and they say they are doing a lot of business here in the
States. But they are having trouble cashing the checks that are sent to them. So, what they do is send about three money orders, worth around $800.00 each, totaling $2,400.00 for all three.
They want you to cash these at your bank and deduct 10% for your commission, then take the
remaining balance and Western Union it back to some unknown person back in the UK.
You see what is happening here?

Believe it or not, I was stupid enough to halfway believe this crap. I did take it to the bank, and
got them to take a look at it, and they told me it was no good.

If you get one of these emails, PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO IT, JUST DELETE IT.

Here is another good one. You might get a letter in the mail stating that you have been chosen to
perform some mystery shopping duties. The mailing will include a check for $1,800.00.

They want you to go to Wal-Mart, make a $300.00 purchase of your choice. Keep another $200.00
for your efforts, take the remaining and Western Union it back to the address that they provide.
This is bogus. If you get a letter resembling this, THROW IT AWAY.

You might even get an email stating that you have won a huge sum of money, that you entered a sweepstakes and your name was drawn. They will ask you for your personal information so that they can send you your winnings. NO DON'T DO IT.

You have got to hear this one. I got an email from the so-called BBB stating that I had been named
beneficiary to a huge sum of money from the Netherlands. They told me whenever I got the email
from these people to forward it to them for protection, they wanted to check it out and make sure thatI wasn't being scammed. OH MY GOD.

Do you know that I have gotten over 50 of these emails in the past month?

It is so sad. I had some emails from these people claiming that they were bedridden with a terminal illness and that they wanted someone like me to take over their funds and invest about 50% of it to the charity of my choice. And I would get to keep the rest of it to help take care of my family.
