Triond’s Humble Beginning

I have been writing for Triond since it first began, two years ago.

I stumbled upon an advertisement on a loyalty programs site that captured my attention because I do love writing and it seemed like a great opportunity. However unwittingly it was, I was one of the original writers at Triond and I am still enjoying the challenge of writing for Triond. There are many more writers and photographers now, but there still seems to be a core of the original writers who are still contributing. We have been there through all the changes, improvements as well as the hiccups of a humble beginning.

Creating your own Niche

Being with Triond from the start allowed me the opportunity to write whatever I wanted about anything I wanted. I think all the writers embraced this opportunity and used it as the chance of a lifetime, a chance to try their hand at their craft in a professional space. I love poetry and prose and it is one of my personal favourite niches, Authspot. I have contributed regularly to this section and managed to get my own group of people who look forward to seeing what I have written and I read several other writers contributions and I look forward to their new writings, too. I like doing research for my articles, especially the environment ones. The science nature articles are fun to research and can have a real impact on the world we are living in. Being an avid reader of the news articles, I come across much that is interesting and unlikely to make front pages of any publication. I often find myself drowning in information that really overwhelms me and I end up doing no writing at all. Another opportunity lost. Another passion of mine is the "family" and this is another area of expertise that I feel I excel in and I love to share my opinions and views with anyone who will listen. Children are our future and we need to encourage them to fulfill their potential.

Ease of Reading

When writing it is very important to write in a consistent style, this makes the reader finish the item and understand what the article about. Breaking articles down into readable paragraphs and using bullets, points and pictures are all tools that can make the article more attractive and the length has to be taken into consideration also. I bet that makes you wish you had paid more attention in that English or computer class!

Being relatively new to Triond, this article made very interesting and informative reading. Finding this site was very exciting for me, and I'm so enjoying writing whatever I want whenever I want, as well as the interraction with other writers in different parts of the world.

I don't know when triond started but, I have been with them for going on 14 months and enjoy it very much. It is a place where we are able to express ourselves by doing what we love. It's also a wonderful place to learn from informative new articles.

I joined up this past summer, and I'd love to hear more about when and how Triond got going. I hope you or someone else who's been here a while will oblige...

Interesting article as I too enjoy reading about the websites that I interact with. I joined Triond in early fall in order to see if this opportunity was really real or not. Well, it is REAL and they do exactly what they say they do and they pay well, too.

Like everyone else, I too enjoy writing and I always have. I began writing in the early 1980's trying to follow in my dad's footsteps as he is a professional children's book author. But, somewhere along the way I decided to abandon writing and pursue designing traditional board games and card games professionally.

After designing more than 300 games I decided it was time to retire from the game industry and smell the roses. Well, retirement was fun for the first year, but quickly lost its appeal once I realized that I retired too early. I am only 38 and retirement really is a reward for people a bit old than I. I need to work to feel alive.

Now I write little bit of everything, but I enjoy writing most about those things that interest me the most and I like a little bit of everything. I have not tried to publish any of my novels, because of their sheer size (averaging 580 pages) and I do not know enough about what people are willing to read on the Internet, yet. Darn, I do not even know if Triond would even want to publish a full size novel either.

I really have enjoyed reading the articles and poetry that other Triond writers have contributed to Triond. I have found new authors that I enjoy and look forward to reading their newest work when it is available. Not only are the writers that routinely write for Triond really good writers, but they are also equally nice people.

Thank You Triond for this opportunity.

Good article,
Although I do not currently have a lot of content up, I thoroughly enjoy reading, learning and enjoying all Triond and it's writers have to offer!

Wow ! There's barely enough room to insert a comment of my own. I want to first thank you for your expertise comments on my article "Protect Yourself From..etc. I guess you are a pioneer on Triond, well you sure fit the shoe, glove, or whatever makes you part of this great organization. By the way, I almost forgot to mention that this article is very well written and conveying of purpose...as usual. Thanks.

I have only been with Triond for about a month. I have seventeen articles published, on a variety of things. I'm always looking for ways to drive traffic, but so far, I haven't driven as much as I'd like. Practice makes perfect!

I enjoy reading the articles of others, as well, and since the social upgrade has come, I have gotten some nice feedback, too.

I'll be here for quite awhile, I think...

I am new here and I didn't know that you were an original writer. That's great to know. I picked you as one of my friends because you made me feel very welcome by leaving me a comment when I didn't know anyone. I thank you for helping us new writers here at Triond, feel like we belong here too.

You are the best, Lucy. You are the reason I come back to Triond from time to time.

Great article, I missed out on the first year. Joined here January of '07. How has your experience changed with the new additions?
#15 by Lucy Lockett, Dec 27, 2007
The biggest change for me is that my list of favourite writers is growing. I tend to read more and write less! But nevertheless I will write one or two poems each month to strengthen my own skills and still take many photo's. I am working on getting a book published into 'mainstream' print publishers this coming year, that would please me very much.
