What if your paypal wasnt linked to a banking account?
What if you sold "nurses uniforms" on ebay which was really a secret code for one tablet of E or something.
So then the money goes into your paypal account and you post off the E tablet.
So you have $40 in your paypal account now. You need to buy some saucepans and so you pay the $40 for the saucepans and no one is the wiser.
Too easy.
This is totally incorrect about E-gold You can't just transfer the money in your bank accounts into an e-gold account You have to exchange your national currency through a separate 3rd party exchanger who hopefully follows kyc and other guidelines.
Its very hard to launder money through these accounts. The pay pal account does a check on your personal banking account 1st to check to see if you are who you say you are. Its the same if you set up a buisness account. Its all interlinked and can be traced back to the source.

Its sounds like a market gimic, to get more people to open accounts.

I don't think Paypal has been brought up on charges of money laundering but I see what you mean about the posibilities. However, Paypal is very secure and performs lots of checks on business accounts. They even checked out my UK address and phone number, so they do know who has accounts and where they live.
