Great User-Submitted Art Websites You Must Explore

The Poster List

The Poster List is a in-house design and poster distributor. The posters are unique, edgy and different than any you've seen before. From custom Barack Obama political posters to posters paying homage to super 8mm film cameras, this is a favorite and a must see.

Threadless

Threadless is a user submitted tee shirt and hooded shirt website. The great thing about Threadless is that all the shirts that get printed have to be voted on, so what you can order are usually the best of the best. You can submit your own designs to threadless, and if it gets printed, you get a nice little chunk of cash and could see others wearing your shirt!

Threadless has some great shirts, with vibrant colors, comical messages, or simplistic style. Many of the submitters are freelance graphic designers, leaving most of the shirts looking fresh and new, instead of the rehashed tees we see on most websites. If you see a design on Threadless that you like, order it quick because they tend to sell out quickly.

Cafe Press

The advantages of cafepress is that anyone can submit almost anything! Tee shirts, posters, stationary? Not hard to find on Cafepress. There is an enormous database of almost any style or design. Political, Avant-Garde, Humorous, Design oriented and so much more.

Cafepress is also a great way to share your art with others and make some money doing it. On cafepress you don't have to worry about printing up your shirts or shipping, you just design them and take a cut.

Vimeo

As I've talked about before, ditch YouTube and move to vimeo.com. On vimeo you can upload and view high definition, full resolution and native aspect ratio without youtube stretching and warping your films!

Vimeo also has a much better community and you will find less of the video bloggers and more art.

I wrote a full article comparing Vimeo to youtube, if your interested in learning more about vimeo or the differences between the two, check out the article

Deviant Art

I feel like Deviant Art has been around since the internet began. I've submitted to Deviant Art for probably ten years. DeviantArt is a great place to show off your design skills and a great place to catch new trends on their way out of the underground.

It's easy to spend hours browsing the gamut of different styles of graphic design, from realism to vector. You can even order prints!

Uneetee

Uneetee has some of the coolest tee shirt designs on the net. They are all original, extremely edgy shirts you won't find in stores. Most have a powerful and strong message or are heavily thematic.

The shirts are prices well and they are user submission based. If you think your designs are great, submit a shirt, you can get $1500 and $2 royalty per shirt sold!

Triond

Triond is a great place to go to find original articles about everything from cooking rice to backpacking through Thailand.

The site publishes articles to it's affiliate sites, has a great standard of excellence and is a constant source of new material coming out on the internet.

Users can also post videos and audio to Triond's affiliates, so don't think it's just writing! And if you would like to be more than a passive consumer of art, try writing for them, it's extremely easy to use and they have great support, oh and did I mention you get paid?

User submitted art is great. Seeing real people, not a group of advertising gurus, coming up with and distributing real designs over the internet, thats a technological pinnacle. Enjoy these sites and others, because Nike and Gucci aren't the only designers making apparel.

Innovative Technology Driving and Changing the Complexion of Our World

Technology is definitely the driving force of the present and the future. Not only do more and more exceptional advancements emerge on a daily basis, technology's influence is dramatically changing the complexion of how we live our lives.

Because of handheld devices that allow you to send email, take pictures, capture videos and carry on a conversation, as well as an array of other new possibilities, business and personal matters can be taken care of anywhere you go. Save time and send your loved one a quick text message while you are waiting in line to purchase your groceries. Check your email messages while you are on your way to your next meeting. Productivity is doubly increased, peace of mind is considered and supported, and the chance for efficient advancement is magnified.

Today, I found the article “10 Billion Video Views Online in December” stating that in December 2007 a record breaking 10 billion online videos had been watched. This is definitely a huge shift in consumer attention that will predictably change the direction of the entertainment field, the profitability of movie theaters, and the continued invention and innovation of more attention grabbing websites. It will be doubly interesting to see how this trend continues, especially when many of the online video websites show free movies, videos, and games; such sites, of course, are able to do so because they gleam their profits from advertisements and popularity ratings.

Are you curious about which online websites are the top rated sites on the internet? Check out Alexa. This site dedicates its focus on ranking the most popular sites in the world by country and worldwide. Worldwide, Google rates as number one, Yahoo follows closely behind in second place, while MySpace is consistently third in line.

As the trend of focus continues toward websites encouraging consumers to spend more time on their computers versus watching the television or other venues like going to movie theaters, etc, I have been questioning whether I should eliminate my television and cable bill altogether. What is the benefit of having my television, after all, when I can see many of the same shows (maybe a little later, but free) on my computer? That's a significant savings of about $50 per month.

For now, I realize that I like to be able to search certain sites and not have to be glued to one particular site (i.e. watching a movie). Having a television still offers you a function that one computer alone cannot; the freedom to utilize both at the same time, a convenience that I'm not ready to give up quite yet.

It is quite clear that the value of the limitless wealth of resources you can find online is priceless. You can spend a lifetime researching all the innovative websites, services, etc. that keep emerging and you will never run out of new sites to discover. Not only can such searches help you uncover helpful self-promoting sites if you are a writer, business owner, etc. they can open your eyes to new, unique, creative ways to better the way you live your life or conduct your business affairs all within the simple click of your mouse.

Triond’s Humble Beginning

I stumbled upon an advertisement on a loyalty programs site that captured my attention because I do love writing and it seemed like a great opportunity. However unwittingly it was, I was one of the original writers at
Triond
and I am still enjoying the challenge of writing for Triond. There are many more writers and photographers now, but there still seems to be a core of the original writers who are still contributing. We have been there through all the changes, improvements as well as the hiccups of a humble beginning.

Creating your own Niche

Being with Triond from the start allowed me the opportunity to write whatever I wanted about anything I wanted. I think all the writers embraced this opportunity and used it as the chance of a lifetime, a chance to try their hand at their craft in a professional space. I love poetry and prose and it is one of my personal favourite niches,
Authspot. I have contributed regularly to this section and managed to get my own group of people who look forward to seeing what I have written and I read several other writers contributions and I look forward to their

new writings, too.
I like doing research for my articles, especially the
environment
ones. The science nature articles are fun to research and can have a real impact on the world we are living in. Being an avid reader of the
news articles, I come across much that is interesting and unlikely to make front pages of any publication. I often find myself drowning in information that really overwhelms me and I end up doing no writing at all. Another opportunity lost. Another passion of mine is the "family" and this is another area of expertise that I feel I excel in and I love to share my opinions and views with anyone who will listen. Children are our future and we need to encourage them to fulfill their potential.

Ease of Reading

When writing it is very important to write in a
consistent style, this makes the reader finish the item and understand what the article about. Breaking articles down into readable paragraphs and using bullets, points and pictures are all tools that can make the article more attractive and the length has to be taken into consideration also. I bet that makes you wish you had paid more attention in that English or computer class!

Make Money Web Designing

I have been pondering the internet looking for ways on how to make money and to make a viable business from home and I have found out that the ever increasing internet sites that offer web design are increasing. I do not blame people for getting into this way as for an average of £150 per job can be rather lucrative, and this is just for a basic website that anyone can create. I have started my own business without using any fancy HTML programming language or spending 2-3 years in college learning anything fancy. I am just like you guys and gals, sitting at home pondering and wondering what it would be like, (what if?).

Well I am not going to ask you for any money for this, this is a free to anyone that wants to try it out how to. I do not believe in all these websites that promise to make you millions of pounds, I just make a nice living from doing what I enjoy to do and that is sitting on my computer doing more or less what I usually waist my time doing (fiddling with PC). I still sit on my computer but I create.

I see it as something that you would also do on something like Triond, Create something and get paid for it and its so easy.

So give it a try and see what you think, maybe you too could be making a good living and maybe learn enough to design your own online web design company.

Where to begin

Well as I stated before you do not need to know how to use HTML programming although if you do then it helps. But this is a beginners guide and although there are online sites out there that provide free online website builder wizards, these are pretty useless as they usually have features built in that promote their own business and if you are going to make some money out of this you need to create designs that are uniquely yours. Now this does not mean you have to be superiorly over artistic or creative but to say something is yours is uniqueness.

Now start of getting a WYSIWYG web design program, most have heard of Microsoft Front page or Microsoft Publisher, well these 2 programs can create web pages, even Microsoft office Word has a feature to create what you have typed into a HTML document to be viewed over the internet but to get really good unique stuff you need to get something that is not as basic as Front page and not as slow as Publisher, a program that can design pages like Publisher does but is dedicated to Web design.

My number 1 top choice would be Web Page Maker V2 as this has text boxes that you can drag around the screen and make the layout that you want, you design the page as you would do a Microsoft Publisher document but the coding it changes it into is much quicker than the coding of Publisher and there are allot less bugs when it converts it to HTML. Now this program if searched for in a search engine can be found as a free trial download with many features disabled yet the free version is still superior and will get you your first few jobs that will pay you enough to maybe pay for the full version.

Other programs that can be used are:

WYSIWYG Web Builder 4.0

Serif Web Plus 6.0

Nvu Web Authoring

Mozilla Composer

Trellian WebPAGE

Amaya Web Browsing and Authoring

Netscape Composer

As you can see there are allot of web authoring software out there that you can get your hands on for absolutely no charge and can start earning money instantly.

Next Step

Now you have your page designing software you need first of all to create your own website to advertise what you can do and your prices. This is your chance to show off you creative talents, by designing your own website you can advertise that this is the quality of your work and that you are as professional as the larger companies.

You can host your website where ever you want. There are a few free websites out there like
Yahoo
,
Geocities
,
MSN
, or even your own internet service provider offers a free web hosting facility as a part of your package with them ... I know mine do and I use it to my full advantage. Also if you don't have a website or do not want to create a website then you can create a blog explaining what you do ect ect, you can do this at places like Blog this site, or goggle blogger. Whichever way you go you will have to get your own clients. I do not promise that I can make you money only you can do that but with perseverance you can accomplish anything.

Now you could do this full time or part time it is totally up to you how you do it, you could just make websites for friends and family or people you know that own a business (which is how I started to be honest), whichever way you want to do it just make it fun and keep it fun, the time you begin to dislike it is the time you shouldn't do it anymore.

All the programs above come with full instructions so I don't really need to put instruction on how to use them here. But my key words in this whole document is summed up in a nutshell.

F U N, F U N, F U N,

If you don't have fun showing you creativity then don't do this.
