DLTK

DLTK is a great site to bring Christmas wonder to the little ones. Home page has a link for kids that will take them to a host of fun Christmas activities such as games, puzzles, crafts, and a whole lot more that is sure to keep kids busy until Santa's arrival. There is a special link for "grown ups only" (ENTER) where parents can help Santa write the perfect Christmas letter to their child. Choose the style of letter Santa will send and then by answering a few questions you can help him personalize the letter to turn it into a very special experience for any child.

Santa's Home

Santa's Home is an animated advent calendar. By clicking on each number, your child is taken through the month of December by illustrated story one day at a time until Christmas Eve arrives.

Santa Claus Animation Fesitval

Santa Claus Christmas Animation Festival is fun for kids and kids at heart. By clicking on different parts of the picture you are able to watch Santa's reindeer in their corral as they wait for Christmas Eve to arrive or you are invited inside Santa's house to watch what goes on before the big night. Best of all your child will have free entry to The Toy Factory. Watch the busy elves as they put the finishing touches on toys and then test them before they are loaded into Santa's sleigh. There are too many activities to mention on Santa's animated site and you will have as much fun as a child checking it out.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

This How the Grinch Stole Christmas coloring book is fun and easy. Open the colouring book, and then click on a colour and click where you want the colour to go. There are three pages of well known pictures from the Christmas story How The Grinch Stole Christmas. I had lots of fun with this one!

The North Pole

This web site will give you the real time weather at The North Pole. Decorating Christmas trees, building a snowman, or touring Elfland are just a few of the many activities to enjoy at Growley's Christmas Page.

A Winter Scene

Colour a winter scene by clicking and dropping colour in the picture.

Christmas Tic Tac Toe

Play Christmas Tic Tac Toe. This game needs two players. Play the game in Santa's beard by dragging and dropping your play pieces on the game board.

Santa's Lights

This 25 piece jig saw puzzle is harder than it looks but it's lots of fun.

Match the Stockings

In this game you have to find the stockings that match. Uncover the whole playing area to see the Christmas Greeting behind it.

Gingerbread Dream

If you have ever wished you could make your very own candy house, here's your chance. Drag and drop candy and gingerbread men to create the candy house of your dreams.

UK Internet Shopping Levels Up by 106%

At 1.09pm on Monday 10th December came the most lucrative minute in the history of UK online shopping history highest when a massive £767,500 was spent in a single minute. Amazon claim to have been processing in the region of an impressive three quarters of a million orders per day in recent weeks.

Paradoxically, Richard Dodd of the British Retail Consortium, believes that fear of economic slowdown is the reason for the sharp increase in UK internet shopping levels.

“Customers are under more pressure this year to make their money go further, which I think is behind the slowdown on the high street. Many find a better bargain online."

He also believes that the increase in online shopping is good for both consumers and retailers.

"Not only does it mean you don't have to go out into the cold, it also offers a bigger range of choice, both in terms of product and price. The whole world is suddenly opened up to shoppers. While this can be damaging for some smaller stores who don't sell their products online, for the rest it increases the size of their potential market so that anyone in the world can see and buy their products.”

The significant shift towards shopping online this Christmas has proven problematic for the postal service and courier firms who have been trying to cope with delivery of the 120 million items bought online (up from 100 million in 2006) in the run up to the festive period.

According to Consumer Direct, the Government-funded advice service, complaints about non-delivery or late arrival of goods has increased by almost one third.

Just 4 days before Christmas, Marks & Spencer sent this email out to some of its online customers:

"The recent order you placed with us is unlikely to arrive before Christmas due to our delivery carrier restrictions in reaching key geographical areas within the UK. We appreciate that if the order was needed for Christmas this will be frustrating for you and would like to apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause. We now expect your order to arrive during the first week of January 2008.”

However, M&S claim that this email was sent only to a “tiny” number of customers, "More than 99 per cent of goods arrive on time," a spokesman added.

Christmas Gifts: Hard Task or Funny Entertainment?

And what about both getting ready for the gift-choosing in advance and having a good time?

The
Giftoscope
has been created particularly for this purpose.

The Giftoscope is a virtual machine, helping to chose presents in off-the-wall way. You're usually asked to specify age and sex of a person you intend to make a present to and a sum of money you're going to provide for a gift.

The Giftoscope emphasizes the gift features as follows:

Should it be a funny or a serious gift?

What color can it be?

How soft or hard should it be?

How big is this thing?

Should it be a useful thing or just a trifle?

And so on.

When doing so you shouldn't answer a lot of questions, just mark a few points you expect from a present.

As a result, you may have funny combinations, for example:

Something blue for a kitchen, which my granny may like;

A small pink toy for a girl of three;

A memorable gift under $ 10;

An original gift for a cat-lover;

A useful thing for the grandfather;

A funny present for a brother, who is a student;

A big serious gift for a couple;

A funny gift for a “Jack of all Trades”; and many others

The Giftoscope analyses its database for quite certain gifts and tries to find those you could like among them. It's approach to the given conditions is flexible enough, and due to this you can find a gift you didn't plan, but very suitable for a person you a going to present it.

You can buy a chosen gift just on-line: the Giftoscope keeps the leading Internet Shops proposals in its database. But the principle Giftoscope's task is not to sell you goods, but to help you to get off habitual stereotypes and find an interesting idea for a gift. And it solves this problem excellent.

	We try to keep Christmas from getting too hectic, too expensive, too commercial, and too busy to enjoy. We want the celebration to be special with the family and for the focus to be where it belongs. I want to share a poem written by Christina Georgina Rossetti and give honor to Jesus and offer my assistance in some internet sites to save you time and money this busy season:

What can I give Him,
Poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd
I would bring a lamb.
If I were a Wise Man
I would do my part,
Yet what can I give Him?
Give my heart.

(Christina Georgina Rossetti)

Amusing Christmas Sites

'Tis that wonderful time of year again. I love the holiday season. It never seems to come fast enough for me. Festive lights, jingling songs, and lots and lots of spiked eggnog just seem to warm my heart. .

As I scoured the net in a whirl of yuletide fury I came across some fun holiday sites I'd like to share.

It all started as I was decorating my tree last night. As I stepped back to gaze at the finished product, I couldn't help but think how horrifically ugly it was. I was slightly dejected, but I knew if I saw a few uglier ones, mine wouldn't look so bad. So, I googled “ugly Christmas trees,” and as it turns out mine isn't so ugly after all. While googling, I came across a little gem called Ugly Christmas Lights. The site shows “those houses where the residents are likely celebrating a happy holiday but have no sense of decency in how they choose to celebrate.”

My next stop was to Elf Yourself, where you can superimpose an image of you and/or your friends and family on a group a dancing elves, and share the results with others.

Then I found my way over X-Entertainment, where I imbibed in a dose of 80's Christmas nostalgia.

About that time, I received an email from a friend who was upset at having received a Letter from Bad Santa. I attempted to console her, but I got distracted…

I was too busy watching the cast of Scrubs voice over Charlie Brown s Christmas. Hilarious!

Finally, I settled into bed as I watched one of 101 Classic Christmas Shows that are available free to watch online.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Wikipedia

      Have you ever thought about going to
Wikipedia
well it is a great website for
information but, it seems as though it is the only website for information when you may actually
need more sources for say a school project or something else that needs a lot of information.

      Another true point about Wikipedia is that some of the information posted is not true and
you can not always trust the sources you go to. Google is another source you can not always trust
because every thing that is posted on Google has been posted by someone just like me posting
this, you don't even know if this information is true(it is).

      Also if you have clicked on this page that means you probably wanted to go to
Wikipedia and now that you are quite angry at me (if you have even read this far) so now
you can either exit the web page or go to the actual Wikipedia and maybe using incorrect
information and even if you do use this information make sure you do not plagiarize (it's illegal.)

      When you are looking through the internet it is still one of the best web sites for school
information but, when you are looking for more advanced information you can not trust this site
and I would advise you to use a library or encyclopedias because you can know that this
information is 100% true unless you are looking in the fiction section then you will know that the
information is not true.
