Comments, Please

Have you ever stopped to wonder why some Internet links have places to post comments, and some do not? If you are like me, you enjoy voicing your opinion and find it frustrating to not be able to do so. But, why would the website owner care about my feelings?

Networking.

Some sites have groups of writers that work for them, all on their own, from home. These writers can show their support for each other by posting comments. A way of saying, "I have seen your site, now check out mine", without actually saying that.

Bragging Rights = More Sharing.

A site where you can post your comment is more likely to be shared by you personally as a way of showing your friends that you have your name on a site, with your opinions.

Input for Improvement

Some writers like to have input as a way to improve. When they get feedback they can return to their site and edit, omit, or add things to make the site better. A better site generates more hits, and most site creators want this.

Approval

Some writers like to have comments as a sort of pat on the back, a way to feel good. A way to get interaction with people.

Why wouldn't a site have a comments area?

They do not want any negative feedback.

They do not have time to manage feedback. Most sites enable the user to delete any feedback, or require them to check it before it is posted. Some site owners do not have time for this so simply do not allow feedback of any kind.

They simply over looked the importance of allowing it.

The site isn't conducive to having comments added. Meaning that what ever the site is about, there is no point in commenting on it.

My own thoughts for you to comment on, if you wish.

I have dial up Internet, it is slow and annoying. It is hard and time consuming to post comments, so I only do so when I am passionate about something, or have lots of time to wait for a site to down load. I prefer sites where the comment shows up right away, as opposed to ones where it has to go through a moderator.

I am frustrated when I cannot have input, especially to correct something or point out something. Recently there was a site about a couple who lost a cat for several years, and then found it. The site reported they lost a "ginger" cat, but the picture clearly showed a calico cat.

I would LOVE to be able to add comments on links where certain pet foods are being marketed as good food. However, these sites usually do not allow comments, or would certainly delete mine!

From the social networking aspect, it is sometimes hard to come up with comments more exciting than the standard "that is a good poem" comment. Sometimes I would rather say nothing than add a redundant comment.

Online Dating: Where to Post a Profile and How?

Although there may be a multitude of sites, in Canada, the main ones everyone seems to know and enjoy are, in order of preference: Plenty of Fish, Lavalife, and E-Harmony.

Plenty of Fish

Most people like Plenty of Fish or POF because it's free. For the first time experimenter, it's best to not have to pay since you may decide by day three that online dating is definitely not for you. Plus, the lack of expense has attracted many people, therefore, you have a larger base of persons to choose from.

Lavalife

This one is quasi-free. It's free to post a profile and to browse others, but if you want to be able to send messages and actually interact, then you must pony up some dough. I'd say this site is better for girls than guys. Most women, like in real life, still expect the man to make the first move, so guess who has to pay?

E-Harmony

With this site, both sexes have to pay to communicate or receive your matches. What makes this site different than others is that you do not get to view profiles all across the board. You answer an extensive questionnaire, which some one or some computer analyses then sends you matches based upon your answers. This is supposed to eliminate the duds for you and increase the chances of finding the right person or at least find more enjoyable dates in less time. Whether or not it works in practice as well as theory is up for debate, but I've heard mixed reviews and personally found the thought of paying cash up front a deterrent to joining.

What to Post

Once you've decided which site to join - I recommend joining at least two, the next step is to create an alluring and attractive profile. Unlike what some people will tell you, I do not think posting a profile without a picture is a good idea. It's a fact that we need to have physical attraction as well as mental and intellectual attraction. Would you want to date someone based purely on what they wrote? That's not unlike blind dating, which may be fine, but most people join online sites to avoid blind dates...

Choose at least three RECENT pictures. No matter how you might have stayed the same, it's best to be recent rather than choose that great picture from five years ago. I recommend pictures that display you from different angles, different distances from the camera lens, and in different settings. You want to show that you have diverse interests and are flexible enough to be various settings. I also recommend one good picture and two mediocre ones, thus weeding out those who are truly shallow. Anyone with an inch of depth will take the time to know you if there's a chance you could be attractive and are definitely interesting. With respect to “interesting”, take the time to craft a profile that shows who you are. Are you witty? Are you straightforward? Are you shy? Don't be afraid to let you shine through your words. They are the hook to your picture bait.

However, I also warn you in advance that many times, guys will simply email you hellos or send smiles based solely on the picture without even glancing at the words. Take note of who does take the time to read and inquire about your interests. These guys are not the feared “players”. Time is something only good guys and con men will invest. Players online are like players everywhere: they are merely looking for the easiest good time. Listen to your gut. Dating online is not that different from dating in person, pay attention to cues about their personality. Do not down-play red flags. Note their response time and level of enthusiasm. If his picture is attractive to you, his grammar correct, and his conversation decent, it's time to take it to the next level - the first date. There are only two things to remember: have fun and be safe.

Effective Ways to Increase Visitors to Your Triond Post

As you know Triond had help us to increase the visitors to our post by recommending us to bookmark the post we had done or digg and stumbleupon. There are many sites we can bookmark with the help through Triond website.

Actually there is another way to promote our post in Triond. And it is much easier and more effective than bookmarking. It is by using feed URL. Feed is some sort of the latest update of your content in certain website or blog. It update automatically whenever you got new contents. If you understand well what it is, you will knew that, this will make all your marketing through the internet much easier than before. So I suggest you use Feed for all your content in all website, blog and others. If you recently read from Triond wordpress site here, you can see that, there is a feed URL to our post in Triond.

For example, I got some pictures uploaded in Triond, when I click at my name which is under the title of the pictures (by ksoleh), it will show all the pictures that I have uploaded. Try click at the Subscribe by RSS there. You will see feed post made by me. Copy the feed URL there and put the URL at RSS submission. You can search RSS submission through Google.

If you can see now, actually you can do a lot with the Feed URL there and make your life much easier than before to tell people about your content in Triond.

Here are some examples:

Link the Feed URL at your blog.

For example in Blogspot, you can add a “Feed” page element at your Blogspot and enter your Triond Feed URL there. Remember, your Picable Feed and your Authspot Feed are different, so you might well want to add two or three page element at your blog to tell everyone about your post in Triond by using the Feed element and your Feed URL there.

If you can ask your friend to subscribe by email, it will be better.

Every time you got new post in Triond, whether it is in Authspot or Picable or Cooknote, your friend will notice your new post. This is very effective if you got so many friends subscribing your Feed URL. Through email. Remember, they have to subscribe each of it, Authspot, Picable and others to receive update of your post in different sites.

Thirdly is like in the Instruction above.

Just submit to as many RSS submission as you can. You can search through Google where to submit the URL Feed.

This is the best way.

If you got Mybloglog, you actually can create a Triond site there and submit your Feed URL there. Who knows, if you got many contacts and friends in Mybloglog, you might well get a lot of visitor to your post in Triond as they would see your recent post through Mybloglog

That's all folks. Till then, keep in touch to my post.

Pictures You Shouldn't Post on an Online Dating Site

These websites include 8minutedating.com, Date.com, eHarmony.com, Match.com, PerfectMatch.com, and so on.

The first photo you need to upload to the online dating web sites is the photo going along with your profile. After posting the basic information about yourself, you need to upload this photo, which should be clear and show exactly who you are. Once there was an old lady posted a photo of her young age, which shows that she is very pretty. A young man was attracted by her photo, and he tried to date this lady. Later on, the young man found that he was cheated, and in a rage, he killed the lady. Though it is not always that serious if you use a wrong photo, you need to try to let the others know what exactly you look like. And, you wish the others do the same, right? Particularly, he or she is the person that you find that you want to date with, and you must want to make sure that the photo going with his or her profile is true.

Next, you need to select some photos that can reflect your hobbies, and your interests. If you like riding horses, you can upload one photo taken when you were riding a horse. If you like swimming, you can upload a photo taken when swimming. If you like collecting stamps, you can have your photo taken with one of your collections. This way, you can let the others know about your hobbies.

Also, you can upload a photo taken when you are working, which can show your job and position in a company. You may worry that the others may know too much about you if you do it this way. I know that it is natural for you to worry about it. So, you can hide the information about your company. This way, the photo or photos can reflect your job, but it or they cannot tell the others about the information about your company.

It is not a bad idea to show your charming side and sunshine side in life with the photos. Therefore, you can upload some of them to the online dating web sites. You have the rights to let the others know that you are charming and attractive if you are a lady. If you are a man, you can upload some photos to show that you have the power to attract the ladies' attention.

These are some of the photos that I think you need to upload to post them on an online dating web site. I think that you have your own idea about it , too. Just make good use of the online dating web site!

How to Post a Message on an MSN Group

The first and most important thing about posting on a MSN Group is you must be a member of that site. In order to be a member of a MSN Group you must have a passport.net account. This doesn't mean a passport.net email account. It simply means whatever your email address is, be it AOL, hotmail or msn it has to be linked to passport.net account. If your account isn't linked to a passport.net account you will not be able to join, sign in and post at any MSN Group.

After you are sure you have your email account set with passport.net, you can then signup for any MSN group by clicking on the “Join Now” link located on the left at the top of the menu, right under the “What's New” text. After you have joined, you sometimes will have to wait for approval. If you aren't approved you will never be able to post on that MSN Groups.

After you have been approved you can then have the ability post in your selected MSN Groups web page. This doesn't mean you can post yet though. There are a few steps before you can actually get to post.

You must go to your MSN Group you wish to post in, at the top center right by the web search is a button that says “Sign In” or “Sign Out”. You must click that in order to sign in. Once you are signed in, to the right of your MSN Group regardless on what page you may be on, you will see “Welcome (smilie) and your nickname (member). If at the top it doesn't read “Sign Out” and the right doesn't read (member) then you will not be able to post. This is a big problem with users asking me why they are unable to post and don't realize they aren't logged in or aren't even a member of the MSN Group they joined.

After double checking you are a member find your way to the message boards to post. Once you have found the message board you wish to post your message in (for this example let's say General). In the General message board of your MSN Group you will see a kind of tool bar right above the messages. It reads “Prev 50 Next 50 New Discussion Send to my Inbox.”

To post a new message click “New Discussion.” However, if you wish to respond to a message already posted you must click on that message. I will explain how to post a reply to a discussion already posted in a bit. Right now I will explain how to post a new discussion. After you have clicked the “New Discussion” button a new window will open up (be sure your popup block permits this.) At the top says “Subject” think of this just like an email. Subject is what the posting will be about. In the larger window where it says “Type in your message below:” Type in your message. When you have finished, press “Send Message”. The window will disappear, and sometimes your message will instantly appear, other times it has to be approved by the staff of that MSN Group.

To reply to a message already posted in a MSN Group, click on that topic and scroll down to the bottom where the last post is located. Click on the “Reply” link just above the user's name of who posted. If you are unable to locate this, you can click the word “Reply” which appears in the first posting. Once again, if you are unable to locate the “Reply” button, you can then use your find by pressing the F3 button on your keyboard, typing in the word “Reply” and hitting enter. It will highlight where the button is you may be missing. After you have clicked the “Reply” button a new window will open up (be sure your popup block permits this.) In the window where it says “Type in your message below:” Type in your message. When you have finished, press “Send Message”. The window will disappear, and sometimes your message will instantly appear other times it has to be approved by the staff of the MSN Group.

MSN Groups are set up just as any web based email. So if you are having problems posting, you may not be accustom to web based email and I would highly suggest signing up for a hotmail and yahoo email account so you can get use to the format.

Be Careful What You Post

A lot of people post their personal photographs online, and not necessarily only on dating sites either. Some folks just want their face on the internet, but they apparently fail to ask themselves if this is a good idea or not. There are a lot of predators out there who use those pictures to get an obsession going. As the commercial says, "if you don't want bad people to know all about you, be careful what you post." True. Very true.

Lying about your age can cause considerable trouble as well. For example, take a ten year old child logging on to myspace as an eighteen year old. Anyone can look at that person's faked profile and thinking that he or she is looking at a genuine eighteen year old, may start proposing situations that the child in question will not be able to handle. This promotes a serious problem with online predators too, because many of them are out there actually looking for underage internet users, and while some ten year olds can fool some people some of the time, they cannot fool all the people all the time.

Parents need to be aware of what their kids are doing online, and this is not always easy, since most children who are capable of moving a mouse, are also capable of visiting at least two or three sites at once, or more, depending on the speed of your internet service. As a result, it is virtually impossible to keep complete control over where your children are surfing. One thing that can be done however, is limiting the child's internet time, and being present in the room while the child is surfing the web. You can imagine how intimidating your presence is when a child wants to be on a website he really should not be on.

Talk to your kids, and find out what sites they frequent. Make sure that you also visit these sites as often as possible, so that you are aware of what your children (and their friends) are doing with their online time. If the child asks to post a picture of himself or herself, suggest to them that it would probably be better to post a picture of a pet, or something like that. It is best for the parents to get involved whenever possible, so that the child's internet time remains fun and safe.

While it may be difficult to take time out of your busy schedule to keep track of what your children are doing online, it is well worth it in the long run, as kids sometimes do not make the wisest choices in the world, and they really need that parental influence. What they really do not need is a stalker who tries to get all the personal information out of your child that they can. A lot of families have been wounded by situations like that, so prevention really is the best medicine.

The internet is not always a nice, safe environment, even for adults who firmly believe that they are in control of all situations. There is always someone, somewhere who knows more about computers than you do, and it is very easy for that person to con you out of your life savings, or other personal information. For children, the internet is a hot plate of hidden dangers, and potential horrors. Never trust that stranger who suddenly shows an interest in you, because that person is probably up to no good.

Even Christian websites can easily be invaded by trolls who are searching for trouble and are determined to find it. They log on as a Christian but once inside the site the last thing they do is act like a Christian. They want your email address, or your phone number, and are so persistent you just want to scream. Never give those pieces of information out to anyone that you don't already know. In other words, if you are involved in an online dating site, make sure that your personal info remains personal until you reach the point where you trust the other person. Always proceed with caution, no matter what.

Safety first, is the best rule to follow, not just in the work place, but also on internet web sites. If you feel safe, you still need to be cautious, because you never know what kind of predator might be lurking just around the next URL.

Make Money on the Internet

Is it possible to make money on internet? I didn't think so at first. But I know better now, since I have managed to earn money on internet. Its a difficult and long journey, and loads of ways to go about it. This article is to help others in avoiding making mistakes. And to familiarize them with some of the terms used in making money online.

This articles discusses different types of payment methods the sites employ to pay the affiliates. It also discusses the different types of paying sites, and how they pay. This article enables readers to be able to identify scams, and to steer clear of them. It includes some advice and tips that a person new to money making on internet should get in order to be able to identify different sites.

Making money on internet is not impossible, but like any other job, it takes time. The time is an investment that you make, to understand different ways, and to explore them, do your research, and then decide which ones work for you. It can be at times tedious, disappointing, and exhausting. But when you finally earn money through internet, its also exhilarating. There will be times when you would want to bang your head against the wall, especially when you reach payout, and don't get payment. You will feel cheated. And sometimes you will feel that you wasted time in exploring something not worth your while. But it will all be worth it in the end.

I started this venture sometime ago. I was free, and had internet to myself, and all the time in the world. So I tried to make money online. I was new, and didn't know much about scams. All the search engines showed data entry and survey sites that promised to pay 100$ a day. There were so many of them. All of them shared one thing: a starting fee. There was a long list of testimonials and how people have gotten mega rich using their site.

Many disappointments and wasted hours later, I finally earned money from internet. Imagine my surprise and glee. So well, I decided to put down all that I've learn about making money online, for all the people out there who are trying to earn money through internet.

Get a pay pal, or e-gold account or money bookers. Most companies pay through paypal, or e-gold

Get a new email address. As I will explain later, nothing in this life is free. When you sign up for free offers, you will get lots of spam mails. So if you have an email address for this purpose only, it will not hurt your personal email.

Become a member of forums that holds discussions on money making websites, and rates them. This is also a great way to build your down line.

Be suspicious of any site that asks you for money. Make sure you don't pay any site before thoroughly researching them. And even if you decide to pay them, make sure its a small amount. Chances are, if a site asks you for money, its a scam.

Don't expect to earn a lot the first month. It will take time for you to explore the sites, and decide the ones that you trust.

Familiarize yourself with the internet money making jargon. Some of them are explained here.

There are many different types of sites that pay you to perform some action. Cash back sites pay you to shop through them, or sign up through them, reward sites are the same.

PTRs: Paid to read mails sites. They pay you to read mails and click on the links. There are some really good ones, and some scams. The problem lies in identifying the ones that actually pay and the scams. Usually, you can easily identify the scams, because they either pay a lot per mail (which is not possible) and the sites with bigger payouts, take forever.

HYIP means high yield investment programs. They require investments. Again look before you leap

Referrals mean people who sign up through you. Down line means people you have referred. Down line has levels. You refer people, and they refer more people, this is how down line is created.

There are sites that pay you to write. If you enjoy writing, you can try some of those as well.

There are also freelancing sites where people post their projects, and writers/programmers bid for the projects. The bidder is then selected by the person who posted the project and is paid by him.

There are a number of get paid to write websites. There are also get paid to post websites.

At these get paid to post websites, you can write about almost any subject. People reply to the subjects you write about.

For example at My Lot, you can write about a moviegoer's favorite treat (popcorn? candy?) or you can ask if 21 is too young to get married, a note on stereotyping people, or making money online. Or even "my cats just ate my dinner!" Almost any subject.

You can initiate the posts and/or just reply to them.

These "get paid to post" websites are revenue sharing websites that earn you money whenever you post, and/or whenever people reply to your posts and/or whenever people click on your post. Some of them also have pay per click advertisers that also earn you a percentage in revenue.

These are very similar to get paid to write websites except you don't have to write full-length articles and you can just post almost any type of information, thoughts, and/or comments. You can ask questions.

Review the types of posts at My Lot, and if interested join. You can join My Lot at the following link

Another "get paid to post" website is
Dormcheck.com

For other "get paid to post" websites, put "get paid to post" in your search engine. There are also "get paid to post" forums, such as GPT Forum, Get Paid Forum and Pay Per Post.

Make money with discussing in a Forum

If you like to post in forums about topics that you find interesting than mylot.com would be something fine for you and you can even make money with that.

How it works:

If you Start a discussion, post in an existing discussion or refer friends to myLot you earn money. myLot wants to provide internet users a place to make money using the web and find the information they are looking for. If you need help with something find a discussion or start one and get help and money for the posts too. If thats no motivation than I don't know what would be one.

You can get Paid in e-Gold or PayPal. The minimum payment is 10$, 25$ 50$ or 100$ depending on which you want.

To make money is very easy, just find something you like to discuss and write what you think. I've done this and the next day I already got 5 cent, well not a jackpot but it will become more ^^

I found some discussions about Deviantart, Devil May Cry and Digital Cameras, there's something for everybody. Just look for a discussion matching your interest or start a discussion.

You also have the opinion to define your Favorite Topics in various Sections and that way you can easily find discussions matching your interests.

You can even rate the posts of others and so the community can find out who's posts are of very good quality. If someone isn't really often active but posts only thoughts of high quality he/she can still get a good rating and if your rating is good more people will read your discussions and posts which results in more earnings.

Result: If you have a working place with internet and a bit of free time each day what you don't know what to do with, give it a try and start making money.

If you have nearly no time in your day left better spend your time with your boyfriend/girlfriend.

Thanks for reading my Opinion.
