Diggers Want The 10 Most Delicious Looking Sandwiches From 80s Movies

Wandering around the IRC; an unfamiliar and strange world, I proclaimed “I'm too blonde for this” and made preparations to leave. Suddenly, a line of text popped up asking, “Are you a hot blonde?”

Feeling as though I'd been tazed by Barack Obama at George Carlin's funeral, I scurried back to the simple comfort of Gtalk. My boyfriend was out buying his new iPhone, to befriend his shiny MacBook Pro (I'm being replaced slowly but surely by machines that are sexier and more intelligent than I) so I couldn't even get a hug after the nasty 94% male person picked on me.

Sulking, bored and jealous of my boy's love struck messages about how amazing the Apple shop was, I moseyed over to Digg.com to veni, vidi, and vici some interesting stuff.

Following rumors about a blood sucking banana and a 400,000 word ode to the deceased Twinkie, I unearthed this article.

And then.

Someone asked for sandwiches.

The 10 Most Delicious Looking Sandwiches from 80s Movies.

Rabid with excitement, nearly adult-wetting myself with angst, manically mumbling "Why didn"t I think of that? It's brilliant! Better than Anti-Net Neutrality Tattoos and Catchy Scientology SnorgTees Slogans!' I raced off after Google, tugging at his pant leg to show me the wonders of scrumptiously aesthetic cheese toasties from 80s films.

But even Google was stumped by this request. Cursing myself for searching "sexy 80s subway sandwich" with safe search off, I continued on my quest.

In The Shining (1980), Jack Nicholson, with the aid of a continuity error, ate a sandwich in record time. I couldn't find visual aids of the occurrence, but I did find this.

That is definitely in my Top 10 Evil Bastards from Classic Horror Movies list.

I figured that Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989) would probably have a sandwich in it somewhere, because come on; American probably stoner teenagers would have to eat sometime, right?

But all I found was a picture of my heroes rooting for Gay Pride.

And even though George Carlin was in the movie, I couldn't find any records of him having eaten a sandwich during the film, on or off set. Were people just not interested in the dietary habits of movie stars back in the 80s? Where are the paparazzi when they can be useful?

So, digg it, share it, bury it if you will. I bid thee adieus as I continue my mission to find the:

This is the first in a series of articles, which will focus on fun and interesting things to do on the Internet. The websites and activities must be incredibly interesting and rather unique to qualify for one of the articles in this series. So, prepare to unwind your mind and have a little fun at the same time.

Digital Films

Let your creative juices flow at DigitalFilms.com as you prepare to produce your very own digital movie that you can email or share with your friends and family. Choose your own background scene, characters, animated actions, dialog, introduction and ending credits and everything that you will need to produce your own digital film for free. Let your creativity shine online and share your creation with the world.

Food Fighting

Start a food fight online among your family and friends by throwing virtual food at them via email. Simply select the type of food you wish to toss their way from red ripe tomatoes to cream pies without having to clean up any mess. This concept is simple, but fun when more people get involved.

Strange Reports

We all know someone who likes playing practical jokes and pranks on unsuspecting people. Now get ready for some sweet payback by creating a virtual prank with their name written all over it. Send a fake news report with your victim named as the sole suspect that the police are looking for via email. You create the news report using the tools that StrangeReports.com provides and then you simply forward the report to your victim's email address and let the fun begin.

Folding U.S. Paper Money

After stumbling across this interesting money folding activity on Bored.com, I knew that this one activity that would blow your mind. You can fold U.S. paper money using the techniques shown on this website to see the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center on fire or you can see Osama in The Pentagon and so, much more by simply folding your money correctly. This exercise will blow your mind. I promise.

The Dialectizer

This website lets visitors convert any English text into several comic dialects from Pig Latin to Redneck and several other dialects. Simply type the URL of any website written in the English language, select the dialect of your choice, and then click Dialectize, so you can see your favorite websites converted into the language that you selected.

Cave of Magic

Originally I had my doubts about this mind control magic trick, but admittedly it blew my mind, because it worked. Cave of Magic is a card trick that guides visitors through a series of short exercises, before it has you pick a single card, and then Simeon (your guide) mysteriously reads your mind and picks the card that you have selected. It's wild, weird and most importantly, it really works.

Crazy Images

This is a must see website that offers its visitors a wide selection of amazing interactive activities that will keep you busily entertained for hours. Choose from image menu an activity that you want to see, and then using your mouse take control making the images change right before your eyes. Hidden within some of the images are nuggets of treasures that will reveal more websites and activities that will blow your mind. I'll leave finding these Easter Eggs embedded within some of the activities on this website up to you to discover, because it is part of the fun.

Fortune Teller

Just for fun, let's see what your fortune has in store for your future. You can choose from nine different kinds of readings that are each focused on a different aspect of your life. Similar to tarot card readings, but using a regular deck of playing cards these readings are pretty dare accurate.

Match Age

Try to accurately guess the real ages of the people shown on this site using only the photograph that the user has provided or upload your own photo and let other people try to guess your age. This is an extremely addictive activity, so you might want to avoid visiting this site until you have more free time available.

Get MakeOvers

Have you been considering changing the natural color of your hair or getting a new hairstyle, but are a little nervous about what the changes might do to your look, then before you do anything too extreme checkout this website first. You can upload your photo and change your hairstyle, makeup, glasses, and many other things until you discover the best new look for you and before you actually do anything to yourself in real life.
Rent Anime Online

Anime is very popular in the USA now, I love anime as well. The renting of DVDs online has been huge over the years, and I love watching movies all of the time, that's why I do DVDs online rentals because if you like watching a whole lot of movies like I do, you will find out that it is much more cheaper to rent DVDs online. Now on with Anime rentals. I have been looking for a rental site that specialized in anime, now don't get me wrong Netflix.com and blockbuster.com has good anime selections, but their library are quite small. I have come across three outstanding sites that specialized in the rental of anime.

RentAnime

Rent Anime has a nice collection of anime, but the navigation of their website can use a little work. They have Hentai and you can buy from their sister site store www.animenation.com at a 10% discount.

Manga Takeout or Anime Takeout

I will go with mangatakeout.com because you can rent both anime and manga the only problem with this website is that there is no hentai at all, but still the fact that this is the only site online that you can rent manga is a BIG PLUS! I like reading mangas, and they offer different plans as well, I think you can go as far as renting up to 10 manga/DVDs out at a time.

Animelane

This is the BEST anime online rental site that is out right now. First off they have the biggest anime collections than the other two sites, second you can also rent live-action Asian movies as well, third you can also rent anime and video game soundtracks (This is nice). And finally they also have a store as well and you get a 15% discount. They also have adult rated materials as well.

The first two websites are good, but if you are a hard-core anime fan go with Animelane.

The Problem with Comment Boxes

In my opinion, there is nothing sadder than people who make arguments over an article they don't agree with, or a You Tube video that someone has said something about. We have all witnessed this, some may even have participated in it, and in any case, it degrades society as a whole. Furthermore, it is also somewhat sad that people not only have the time to read an article or watch a video, then complain about it. To me, it seems that these commentors think the internet should have quality stamped all over it, yet we all know such a thing will never happen

People think they can make a critical argument about an article or movie, but instead they turn to name-calling and simply saying the other personal is wrong. Credibility is spoiled by personally attacking the person one comments against. The worst part of all this is that when a well-grounded person witnesses extreme comments, they become so frustrated by the other persons ignorance and foolhardiness that they are compelled to comment in return.

Are all these comments necessary? I would say no. In fact, I would go so far to say the “leave a comment” box at the bottom of most sites shouldn't even be around. That little empty box is like a lure to some of the most disgraceful people who use the internet. Now, it is important to note that I don't disagree with comment boxes because I have received bad comments (which I have), nor do I disagree with them because uninformed people attempt to make arguments. I believe that the internet may one day be taken seriously as a source of information, and so long as the comment box remains, this will not happen.

It is always good to receive people's feedback on an article or video, especially if it is useful in that it helps the author improve in their works. However, I doubt very much that anyone can recall a comment that was actually constructive. Instead commentors criticize the author, or other commentors. This makes the internet seem less like a forum of ideas and development, and more like an arena in which insults, profanity and attacks on individuals are the only arguments that can ever be made. No matter how successful an argument may be, every person will always end it with an insult or curse word, which instantly removes any value the argument had.

I know the comment box will never go away, and it is even less likely that angry and lazy commentors will leave as well. So what is there to be done? I suggest responsibility. I believe the internet, and the people who use it, can benefit from comments, but only if they are well thought out, and well grounded. This means that everyone must restrain from their desire to call someone a “retarded dickhead ball-licker”, and instead focus their problems with the article or movie in question. There is never any ground to gain when the author is attacked. Such actions only inspire them to continue what they do in order to spite angry commentors. However, if one can point out the flaws in that author's argument, not only may the author benefit, but also the viewers of one's comments.

So please, comment responsibly.

10 Surefire Ways the Internet Can Save You Big Money

Since the recent economic woes in the United States doesn't seem to be getting any better any time soon, it has become necessary to cut costs and balance our personal spending budgets in anyway possible. Usually, entertainment budgets are the first to suffer budget cuts and it's this entertainment that many of us need to stay sane in insane economic times.

This article will introduce you to “10 Surefire Ways That The Internet Can Save You Big Money” and show you where to find how-to instructions to connect your pc to your television for improved viewing.

Magic Jack

Home telephone service calling plans have dropped greatly in price, the typical basis AT&T landline plan starts at about $30.00 once all of the fees and taxes have been figured in. Even $30 dollars is $360 dollars per year with a no bells and whistle calling plan and that is still too much when compared to the savings that consumers experience using the MagicJack Internet phone service.

At a starting cost of $48 dollars (including the MagicJack USB gadget and S/H charges) and $19.95 per year annually thereafter, now that is a great deal. I own a MagicJack and it delivers crystal clear reception and I can call anywhere within the US and Canada for only $1.60 per month without ever receiving another month telephone bill.

The next several websites deliver quality entertainment such as movies, television programming, Internet radio and video games directly to your pc for free. To make this experience more worth wild, the first website will show you how to connect your pc to your television, so that you can watch and enjoy the great programming that the Internet has to offer you.

Bittorrent

On this website you will find complete easy to follow instructions making connecting your pc to your television as easy as 1-2-3. Plus, BitTorrent offers movies, TV, music and games that can be watched, listened to or played for free.

World TV PC

When most people turn on their television set, they may have as many as 200 channels to choose from and many people have even fewer channels to choose from depending on service. At WorldTvPc.com consumers can watch hundreds of television programs that are being broadcasted from locations around the world. This is a great way to learn what is really going on in the world, today.

WwiTv

As if the first free TV website wasn't enough, here's another one where you can tune-in to international television programming from around the globe. There are plenty of channels to choose from and everything from sports programs to lifestyle shows to movies.

Channel Chooser

Now this website is a bit different than the last two free Internet television websites, because this one allows people to watch popular cable television programming like the Sci-fi channel, ESPN, CNN, and many others. With hundreds of channels to select from, there should not be any real problem finding something to watch for free.

Live 365

At Live365, you will find thousands of free Internet radio stations airing free radio programming and music. Users can locate their favorite radio station by selecting stations by genre or built-in station search. Listen to music; talk radio shows and news from around the world and across the Internet from your home computer.

Streaming Media Online

Can't get enough of all of these free or almost free Internet entertainment tools, well then here is another fine example of organized linking to many other free radio and television websites on the web. Surely, you will be able to find something interesting to watch or listen to with this website resources.

Every Video Game

The Internet has developed into a fine place to play video games of every sort and most times they are completely free to play and enjoy straight from the Internet. Every Video Game offers hundreds of old school and new video games that can be played for free from your PC or TV (if your pc and television are connected). Connect your favorite joystick or game pad and start playing your favorite free video games.

News and Newspapers Online

Never buy another newspaper again. Get your news and newspapers from this website completely free. Select the state or country where you live or want to get the news from and have your news delivered directly on your PC for a free and easy daily read.

The ISP Guide

Now, since we have established that the Internet is an extremely valuable Internet tool to maintain during stressful economic times, it is very important to stay connected to the Internet to cash-in on all these savings. The ISP Guide allows you to compare Internet Service Providers (ISP) side-by-side, so to locate the best and some times the lowest connection plans available.

Who Gave Them a URL?! 10 Totally Oddball Websites

The Internet is a maze of interesting and sometimes bazaar activities and entertainment that millions of people participate in everyday life. For some people this means the weirder the better and to be perfectly honest, sometimes the weird is a purer form of entertainment, because it requires a greater creative ability to make the weird enjoyable.

Stop worrying about what to get that person who already has everything, because unless the person that you know is a closet serial killer, then they probably don't have one of these. At “Corpses For Sale” you can purchase an incredibly realistic full body corpse with rotting flesh, teeth and yellow fingernails. The corpses are not real, but the expert craftsman sure makes one stop and take a double take and the reason, is because they look so real.

Looking for a bit of nerd humor with a tad of geekiness? This website offers an assortment of actual technical signs that are not normally funny, but these signs come complete with humorous captions that makes them funny to look at and to think about.

The website introduces an amazing illusion that will have you seeing dots for the rest of the day. Watch a rotating board containing three yellow dots and one green dot, that are there in front of your eyes one second and gone the next second. This is a really cool optical illusion that will capture your attention for the next few minutes.

Built to pay tribute to one of the world's most relied on consumer products “Toilet Paper”. This website presents an extensive collection of brands of toilet paper that range from the mundane to the exceedingly rare. This is a comprehensive Internet resource for learning about toilet paper.

Now, for a fun and dizzying activity that will freak out your mind and confuse your senses. Some sensitive observers may become dizzy and/or sick, so if you are one of these people, then you should leave the site immediately.

Angry Alien has created a new twist on the typical movie review. In 30-seconds, visitors can watch a troupe of bunnies re-enact some of the best movies of all-time in a movie parody sort of way. Some of these movies parody are absolutely hilarious and a must to watch. My personal favorites are: Borat, Jaws, The Grudge and Star Wars.

Sure, Dr Mega Volt is a tad bit weird and completely out of his mind. Anyone who would knowingly put himself in an electrifying situation has to be included in an article entrenched in the world of weird. This guy has either a death wish or he has found a job that pays really, really well.

The Department of Homeland Security introduced in 2002, the Homeland Security Advisory System that features a color-coded warning bar scale that ranges from green (Low-risk) to red (Severe-risk). Now, you can get you very own to download onto your computer for free. I don't know why anyone would want one of these, but there are some weird things that people want for some strange reason.

If you have wondered how many pennies would it take to fill-up a room, then this website will answer this question and continues to take this question even further. What would one billion pennies look like if stacked?

Developed in 1994, “The Really Big Button That Doesn't Do Anything” is a usual artifact that attracts thousands of people every day. Pushing the button is pointless, but for some reason people still continue to push the button regardless.

10 Must-See Websites for the Average User

Everyone is on the lookout for new sites on the web, especially if you already spend hours on the Internet. Here is a very nice collection of sites, from music and gaming to fonts and other entertaining stuff, there is definitely something here that each "surfer" will find interesting.

Kongregate - Softcore Gaming

Kongregate is a flash video game site driven by user-generated content. Aspiring game developers submit their work to have it played and debated among the site's online community. Not every game is a hit, but games like Desktop Defender and Castle Wars will hook you and leave you wondering what happened to all that time you had. The site recently closed another round of funding and received an additional $5M, so look for bigger and better things from it in the future.

Musicovery - For Music Lovers

This free music player lets you plot your mood on a spectrum and then creates a chart of songs to fit your mood. You can further narrow your results by genre, year, and whether the tunes are hits or not. It's a great way to discover new music and find the perfect tunes to fit your day. Watching Musicovery plot connections between artists and songs is also quite a lot of fun.

Dafont - Cool Fonts

The site collects the coolest fonts you'd ever need. DaFont features thousands of fonts, all uploaded by various users worldwide. Navigation around the site is straightforward: Simply browse for fonts either by the categories listed at the top of each page, or by searching for a font name. Most of these free fonts are compatible with both Macs and PCs.

Joox - Movies/Animes/Cartoons

Here you can find lots of new or old movies and one of the reasons I like this site is because the movies are in DivX format which is very neat and clean for the most part. The site is regularly updated which is good, but also means that a new movie could be here today, and nowhere to be found tomorrow. It's best to keep a close eye.

Stick Page - Stick Games and Stick Movies

This is one site I'm definitely on whenever I have time to spare. It's a flash site with ton's of stick games and stick movies, a must have on your bookmark list. Check it out it's a guaranteed plus if you need something to do online, or have some time to kill.

XE - Currency Conversion

Simply the best site for currency conversion I've found to date. But that's probably because since I found this site I have no reason to look for another. It's complete, has all currencies, and is up to the minute... You really need nothing else...

Mess - For MSN Messenger Lovers

This site is a must see for those of you that cannot be easily parted from your dearly beloved MSN. They have a bunch of add-ons, MSN betas, tweaks, etc. Be sure to visit and search through this site, you might end up bookmarking it too...

You might also want to get Messenger Plus Live, an add-on for MSN that you'd wonder how u did without.

Freeware for Pocket PC - For Pocket PC Users

The self acclaimed "largest Pocket PC freeware downloads archive." And to date I found no reason to doubt them. My HTC touch is loaded with applications from this site and keep going back occasionally to see if I missed anything. A must visit for those of you with a pocket pc that's in need of a makeover.

5min - Life Videopedia

5min is a place to find short video solutions for every practical question and is also a place for people who want to share their knowledge.

5min's vision is simple: any solution can be visually explained in 5 minutes. Show us your skills! Join 5min and spread your knowledge!

BrainPoP - Educational Fun

An educational site, but your geek lings won't ever notice. The site features award-winning games, loads of fun, and the animated videos make this a popular choice with both school teachers and homeschooling parents. In fact, many parents prepare their children for standardized tests by using BrainPOP.

The Seven Best Ratings & Review Websites You Must Know 1

Movie Reviews

Very often professional movie critics have very different opinions from the general public. That's why IMDb is a great source to see movie reviews and ratings because you can see what hundreds if not thousands of people think of a movie, instead of just one or two critics. For instance, Juno got an average 8.2 stars out of 10 by 58,000 voters, and you can even see the gender and age breakdowns for the votes.

You also won't have a hard time finding what you're looking for: IMDb consists of the largest accumulation of data about films, television programs, video games and other media.

Product Reviews

It's hard to find trusted product reviews on the internet. ConsumerReports requires a costly subscription fee, Epinions.com is unreliable because they pay people to write reviews, and retail sites seem to have 5 star ratings for everything because they want to sell you something.

That's why Buzzillions.com is the most reliable and trustworthy product review site out there - they gather thousands of reviews a day from their 1000+ store fronts including Staples.com, Overstock.com, RadioShack.com, etc., and they show which reviews have been written by Verified Buyers - buyers who have been verified through the retailer to have actually purchased the product. Since the majority of the reviews are written by these Verified Buyers, you can feel assured that the products honestly reviewed.

Local Service and Restaurant Reviews

Ever been caught with an expensive dinner with crappy food, a mechanic that over charges, or a really bad haircut? Yelp is THE site to see what others are saying and how they're rating local services - everything from salons to dentists and doctors to restaurants and shopping. It's also a great way to find great hole-in-the-wall food places you never would have known about otherwise.

New and Used Car Reviews

Edmunds is by far the best site to read new and used car reviews. Buying a car (especially used) can be a really frustrating experience, and Edmunds is great for finding the true transaction price and ownership costs. Edmunds cuts through the chase and offers great reviews and valuable tips on both buying and selling cars. For instance, it tells you how the Kelly Blue Book was originally developed by a car dealer and can lose you a lot of money.

You can also search by zip code to find extensive information specifically for your geographic area. For example, when you've decided on a car to look at, they make it easy for you to request price quotes from car dealers in your area.

Videogame Reviews

Gamespot has been around for 11 years, and attracts some 2 million gamers per day. They have expert and community reviews on every console and pretty much any game you're looking for.

Music Reviews

Allmusic claims to be the most comprehensive music reference source on the planet, having a vast wealth of music information on even some of the most obscure albums and artists. You can find everything from old and obscure to popular and new, and read editorial reviews and in depth details from pretty much every genre of music.

They have an editorial staff as well as hundreds of expert contributors so you can find what you're looking for as well as great recommendations.

TV Show Reviews

While Metacritic has a wide range of reviews on games, books, and other categories, I see them as most useful and valid for their TV reviews. Why waste time trying to get into a TV show if everyone says it's not worth it? On Metacritic you can search for TV shows by season, see the "Best Of" rankings by year, and see ratings for upcoming TV show premiers. You can also see reviews by both critics and by viewers.

If the writer's strike is getting you down, or you are just the type of person that had very limited time to spare for entertainment, then check out podcasts. Podcasts cover a variety of subjects, and come in either audio or video format. If you have an mp3 player, podcasts can be a great way to get more entertainment then the same old music playlist. Here are some recommended podcasts for people on the go:

News Podcasts

Every major news network provides some type of podcast, whether it's an audio file or video. Most networks provide their popular new programs in a shortened podcast format. This shortened format is great for people who want to keep up to date on news, but don't have a lot of time to do it. Examples of this are CNN's AC360 podcast and NBC's Today show podcast. But for those who want it all, some shows do offer the entire show in video, such as NBC Nightly News or Meet the Press.

Language Podcasts

There is no reason to stop learning just because you are out of school. And what's better than learning a new language? Whether you are learning a new language for a trip you are planning to take, or if it's just to learn how to flirt in another language, it's a great and inexpensive way to challenge yourself. Many languages are available, from German to Japanese, Spanish to Italian. Some podcasts even offer websites for extra learning, such as JapanesePod101. Their website and podcast offer a total package for learning Japanese.

Movie Review Podcasts

Don't know what movie to go and see this weekend? Not sure if some of the classics are worth buying? Check out some of the movie review podcasts available. These podcasts will not only give you movie reviews for those new and exciting flicks, but can also steer you toward the best of the classic movies available on DVD.

Cartoon Podcasts

Want to relive your childhood? Try downloading a cartoon podcast, such as Vintage ToonCast. Vintage ToonCast allows you to download and view videos of old cartoon that are in the public domain. From the beginnings of Disney to Popeye's crazy adventures, you'll find it all here. Vintage ToonCast also has a second podcast with even more classic cartoons for the kid in you.

Make Your Own

If the idea of podcasts intrigues you, and you think you have something to say, try creating your own podcast. See if your ideas appeal to the podcast world. It's easy to do, and can be lots of fun.

All podcasts are not created equal. Because of this, it's good to check out many different podcasts and see which ones that you like best. Happy listening!
