Top Five Web Promotion Strategies for Only $200

Let's say you have a great concept for a web site but you don't know where to start. You start checking into web hosting and pay their fee. Great, now you have the ability to get online but you have nothing drafted yet. You need a site developed with the content you specify and some additional functionality which requires some expertise. So you hire a few IT moonlighters and voila! A few weeks (or months) later and your site gets published. You are on the web, ready to do business.

Then you start to realize that was the easy part.

We are not all sales and marketing experts but the web mandates some marketing savvy if you ever hope to get anyone to even see, let alone purchase, your products or services. If you are a true newbie, you really can't go at it alone. You need two things - you need to know that you need help, you need to find the right help.

And since your meager budget to start with has already been depleted, you might like to know about some great deals. There are many companies offering similar services to the list below but I think you will find these competitive prices very attractive.

Here is a list of the top five promotion strategies found on the internet today which can expose your blog, web site, product, service, or ideas to literally millions of people in a short period of time...

Search Engine & Web Directories Submission Service

Exactseek

For only $36, they will expose your site to hundreds of search engines and web directories for an entire year. They have over 150 million searches per month in their network. Apart from the low fee, the next best feature about their services is there are no PPC charges! You don't even have to bid for your keywords. A great service and the deal is hard to beat.

The only other service provider that comes close and may even be equal or better is EntireWeb.

EntireWeb - Search Engine Submission Service

For only $36, they will expose your site to hundreds of search engines for an entire year. The nice part about EntireWeb is they not only list your site within 48 hours of submission, but also they re-index your site every 48 hours for the entire year. Plus they offer extensive crawling information and a free XML search results feed.

You will find it tought to beat either of these offers for their offerings. You must be in the search engines and the sooner the better. Make sure you have a good META tag in your site's description. Make sure to have accurate, selective, a few META tag keywords chosen. Don't think that having more keywords will make your site any more attractive to a search engine. It will be just the opposite affect so choose wisely. I suggest 15-20 keywords.

If you have frequent and fresh content, you don't want to overlook pagerank with Google. This is a measure of your link popularity, how many sites are linked to you. This is a valuable component for search engine optimization. You need that credibility and you need the exposure. There are a number of companies that can do this for you but here is one that is affordable and builds up your link popularity with both social bookmarking site and link directories...

SocialMarking 2.0

For only $75, they will manually register your site to 100 social bookmarking sites and 1,000 link directories. If you ever tried to register for either a social bookmark or link directory, you will appreciate this service a great deal. If you have never done this task, suffice to say you are saving yourself days if not weeks of time and effort. For me, realizing that it was going to take more than a few hours, I would rather pony up the fee that spend my time doing that much manual entry. Their staff does all the manual entry for you. You are guaranteed permanent one-way links and the sites are all search engine friendly. They claim that once indexed (which happens within 1-2 days), Google indexes and updates very fast.

All their links and directories are constantly reviewed and verified. They support many titles and descriptions and even provide a complete submission report. Again, it would be tough to beat that price for the value.

Direct Traffic

Part of your marketing plan should include sending direct traffic to your site. It doesn't have to be the lion's share of the budget. In fact, it should probably be less than 25% of your budget. You have to gauge which is more effective. You need to do some math and calculate how much money exposes you to how large of a market, and is it the right market, a targeted market, or not. One place to start is with wholesale traffic.

Wholesale Direct Traffic

For not more than $50, you can drive 1,000,000 visitors to your site within 60 days. That's a fantastic deal! If you have any questions, they will get back to you within 24 hours. Some traffic providers don't even reply to their emails. These guys have Adserver generated traffic with traffic pacakges from 15,000 to 1,000,000 visitors. They have multiple traffic sources which route all traffic to one url per campaign. They don't use anything illegal like spam or bulk emailing techniques either. All campaigns launch within 24 hours and the traffic keeps coming for 20-60 days depending on how much traffic you order.

eZine Readers Read and Respond

For only $40, you can advertise to over 1,000,000 ezine subscribers who read their email every day and support one another. This is a 100% opt-in group of ezine readers so there is no spamming involved. It's essentially a safelist. Plus they have an eZine Promotion Resource Center and many bonuses included with your fee. That is a great way to have a large group of people find out more about your site.

The last method is only too obvious - free advertising venues. Specifically, you want to get your site into online classifieds with very high traffic. The best one is Craigslist. You can visit www.craigslist.com and create an account (for free), post anything you want (for free), and have your ad exposed for 14 days. They get millions of hits per month. Google Pagerank (PR) of 8 which is very high because they are hugely popular.

Need Professional Help?

Get Me On Media

This is a professional Google Adwords management service which falls outside of the scope of the Top 5 affordable services listed above, however, their services are affordable if you want to break into Pay-Per-Click advertising eventually. PPC advertising is not the cheapest advertising, but it does drive the most relevant visitors assuming you have picked good keywords. This service provider figures out all those details for you. They create custom business-specific ads written by Adwords experts. They create custom keyword lists which are optimized for your entire ad campaign. They provide you a dedicated account manager. For $5, you can give them a test drive for 14 days. After the trial, it costs $60 per month for their services. After that cost, you only need to determine your Adwords budget. The minimum is $30 per month ($1 a day). They guarantee you will be listed within 48 hours. If you can figure out Adwords on your own, you will save $60/month but then you have to know what you are doing or you will waste alot of money.

One last strategy that is "off the radar" for this article but is definitely worth mentioning is the use of doorway pages.

For only $50, you can buy a product like Doorway Page Wizard which does all the tedious work for you. Basically, the concept is to create web pages with content that is related and relevant to your site which the search engines can index readily. This makes it easier for people to find your web site when they do a search. Without the use of Google Adwords, by using doorway pages, you can increase the chances of people finding your site from the "organic" search. That is the normal free search results that Google sends you after a search. The very top and right are the sponsored ads.

After spending many hours searching and comparing different products and services, I hope you find these suggestions useful and affordable. Once you have some successful campaigns running and some revenue comes in, you can increase or diversity as necessary.

The bottom-line, however, is to be able to carry the whole task of internet marketing with élan. Amongst the most crucial factors are publishing unique articles and the aspect of social bookmarking.

Willing to be the best internet marketer? You must have designed your website carefully, but along with that, never ignore to introduce informative articles and related links. Along with that having unique articles in your website helps you earn more money as there will be more visitors in your website.

Why do You Need Unique Articles?

It seems that you are related to internet marketing for some period, and in that case, you must have knowledge on article marketing. If you have not tried yet, it is then time to do so and get more traffic through unique write-ups. Using unique articles in the website not only helps you generate more traffic, but also helps establish your website on towards the top in terms of search engine rankings.

Many internet marketers still follow some old methods to increase the popularity, but it is very rare to achieve success by using those techniques. It takes no time for the world of internet marketing to undergo a change, and whatever procedure you have followed previously might not work that well now. Unique article marketing seems to be one of the best options that is capable of providing better search engine rankings, and you are able to make more profit.

It might be that you are having your own website and along with that, you have number of articles to submit in different directories. You do have the opportunity of using software tools for article marketing such as iSnare.com, SubmitYourArticle etc to submit the articles. There are number of people using this method, and simply waits for the traffic to gather and pay attention on the subjects.

Problem is that in most of the cases all the articles become same of the kind or similar to each other despite of submitting in different websites. As soon as they are identified as the same copy, they will be treated as one backlink connected with your website. In that case, you position goes down in the world of internet marketing.

To avoid this kind of situation, submission of unique articles is recommended.

Social Bookmarking is also Important

What is the utility of the social bookmarking system? People related to internet marketing or SEO services save links to web pages by using this system. You are able to save bookmarks privately, and share with people or groups of your own choice.

While you are using social bookmarking, they can be viewed in a chronological order either by tags or types, or also with the help of search engine. In case you are willing to create a good quality search engine that is capable of providing better search engine rankings, then social bookmarking plays an important role to do the same.

Social bookmarking is capable of showing the figure on how many times visitors have bookmarked the page. While you are trying to get better positions in the world of internet marketing, then social bookmarking helps you get many useful links.

People related to internet marketing or SEO services can make their business best among all; you just need to opt for the correct tools and combination that helps you achieve your goals.
Buried! Are You Spamming?

For The Writer

It is all about quality, not quantity. We do not want to see multiple stories from you each day on how many ways you can do something, or top ten lists of what to see. Put some effort into the research, whether about the subject, or how to improve your language skills. Include appropriate photographs, drawings, and charts. List all your resources, and make sure they are credible. There is no reason why you should be marked as inaccurate. Do not be afraid to use more than a one sentence description for your photos. That is a storybook, not acceptable as an “article”. I cannot express enough if you are writing for a science publication, be certain it is factual. If you want people to take you seriously, be professional and make your article the same!

For The Photographer

Every photograph will bring back memories, but we do not want to see 15 different angles of the same flower, or 20 pictures of the same sunset. Use different objects, different themes, and be creative! Photo editors work quite well to adjust the color, gamma, contrast, and brightness. If there is too much noise, it can be reduced. Center your object and crop if necessary. These are very basic techniques. You don't need to purchase Adobe Photoshop CS3. It is costly and nice to have, but there are other photo editing tools. Search the web for the one which is good for you and your budget.

Examples of two awesome pics!

Credit: Marcus Edward John Cross

Publishing Your Material

You have spent a great deal of time first with the concept, then writing your article. Proofread and use spell check! The online “Your Language to English” translators do not always work. If your language skills need improvement, consider taking a class at a local college, or go online and use one of the many helpful tools. One useful place is English Grammar Secrets.

Credit: Jason Tromm

Submitting Your Material

If you are into social bookmarking and one of the above, please do not submit your own material. I'll bury you myself! Everyone thinks their work is pretty darn good, but others may not have the same opinion. Let someone who likes your work submit to the sites.

Regardless which social bookmarking site you decide to use, do not submit from the same website or “family of websites”. There are many good and reputable websites which users find interesting. Look for something unique and submit.

As an example, I located an Associated Content user who also has a Digg account. This person had 2.5 pages of submissions or 35 articles within a short amount of time. Most of the user name was removed in the “printscreen” to spare them of complete humiliation.

Blogging

You have your own blog/website and you want to get exposure. Fine! Is it necessary to see multiple entries submitted each day when things could have been condensed? See example above. Top Ten Songs from each artist? Come on! Your blog is a great place to express your interests. Design it to be a fun place to visit and return. Join social networks, make some friends, and share.

Be Nice To Your Friends

For the others into social bookmarking, unless you are one of the "real" top users on a place such as Digg, when you submit more than 10 articles in a day and “demand” your friends to Digg each and every one, they will most likely delete you from their list! Remember, if each friend has 100 friends who submit 10 a day, how do you expect each one to be read?

Do Not Be A Spammer

Please do things the proper way and earn the respect within the different communities. =) (That is a “borrowed” expression from a user who is well-known for her smiley faces)

Marketing for Beginners: Social Bookmarking Basics

If you already belong to a social bookmarking community such as; StumbleUpon, Digg, Reddit or Slashdot, then you are already miles ahead of the things that this article is designed to cover. Although, if you never joined an online social bookmarking network or have joined, but then afterwards had no idea, why, then this is your luck day.

Use your favorite search engine and type in this search phrase “Social Bookmarking Networks”, and then visit several and look around, so to get an idea about the place, people and topics that are popular. If the network is free to join and the place meets your approval, then join.

After you first join, take time and setup your personal profile page anyway that you want, but remember that your profile page is an extension of your personality. If you are a professional in your field and want to build a network for other professional, then you personal profile page should reflect your professionalism, too.

Since most all social bookmarking networks are build on the simple premise of discovery and sharing your discoveries with the community, it is advised to start locating interesting websites, photos (avoid pornography), videos, music and articles, and start posting (bookmarking) your finds to the community website. This demonstrates your ability to be active and contribute to the network in a positive way.

Making friends on social bookmarking is a very easy thing to do. Just click on another member's screen name or photo, and then read over their profile page and interests, and then if you have something in common invite them to be your friend. You can also make friends easily by simply seeing what other members liked your discoveries and ask those people to be your friend.

The more friends that you make, then the more successful your network can ultimately become and that is the name of the game. Plus, social bookmarking websites are an excellent place to discover new subjects that you might find interesting enough to write about that is if you are a writer.

Quick How-to on The Best Social Bookmarking Sites

Recently I have embarked on extensive research into which bookmarking sites are the best to go for and what methods to use with them.

How did I do this you may ask? On a free blog site (that does not publicise your blogs for you) I put up 20 blogs of similar length and in a similar subject field. I then entered these blogs into different social bookmarking sites and monitored the results. This is far from the perfect experiment but the results were such that I was able to draw up some clear winners out of around 20 bookmarking sites.

Shoutwire

Out of the 20 sites I tested shoutwire came 4th. Not only is it good for getting traffic but it's easy to sign up to, easy to submit new things to and easy to receive comments on making it a very handy site to have as a favourite. One tip to bear in mind with shoutwire is that it doesn't let you choose specific tags so try and be as accurate as possible with categorisation

Digg

Digg came a close third and was equally as easy to use as shoutwire. Not only this but digg does allow you to customise tags so there is a much broader use of tagging available. Definitely one worth favouriting

StumbleUpon

StumbleUpon at first didn't appeal to me as it forced me to download a toolbar which generally I am against. However I found that by hiding my toolbar whenever not using stumble upon it actually speeds up the process of favouriting your sites as there is no need to log in or type URL's. However this is another site that does not allow custom tags, possibly why it is in second place

Del.icio.us

This site won not only on page views but on practicality as well. It has the ease of use of stumble upon combined with custom tags leading to a very high page view count for very little hassle. Every blogger should have this toolbar installed even if it's hidden most of the time.

Now it is important to bear in mind that these results were only found for 1 category of blog however I am confident that the results can be generally replicated for many different categories, why not give it a try!

10 Way to Drive Traffic to Your Site for Free

Social Bookmarking Sites

There are hundreds of social bookmarking sites online. Professional webmasters use these sites in order to drive traffic to their sites. In order to have a list, you can go to Google.com and search for "social bookmarking sites" and a list of these sites will appear. You can now start registering and once your application is approved, you can then start bookmarking your posts, sites and other interesting items you found online.

Social Networking

Social networking sites are similar to social bookmarking sites but more interactive. Here, you are also allowed to communicate and send messages to other members of the community. Some social networking sites share revenue to its members. Similarly, to have a list of these sites, you can go to google search engine and type "social networking sites".

Widget Box

So far, widget boxes are my most effective forms of driving traffic to my blogs and sites and marketing my work online. If you have a blog or site, you can make blidgets and a code of the blidget for this will be generated. In order to drive traffic to your site, you can attach the blidget in your signatures when you post comments in blogging communities or post it in your profile in social networking sites. This is working for me and I love making blidgets. It's so easy. You better try it.

Email Marketing

If you have many friends and you have a listing of their email addresses, you can send them an email informing them of your work. Most of the time they will be interested, they will be curious what you're up to so they will visit your site. The technique is to write interesting and informative articles so they will keep on coming back.

Forums

Many people love to participate in forums. I for one, have joined in almost 10 forums. I visit my favorite ones first, while the others, I do when I am done commenting in my favorite blogging communities.

Comments

Comments are very effective too. I do this everyday, posting comments in my favorite sites, blogs and communities. I get many pageviews using this method.

Profile

Your profile is very useful. These profiles can be in friendster, myspace, multiply and other social networking sites. Mostly, you are allowed to post your blogs and sites, as well as your recommended programs.

Directories

There are thousands of directories online where you can submit your blogs or sites. Submitting to them will boost your site's pagerank as well as increase traffic to your sites.

Blog Directories

Directories accept weblogs and business sites, while blog directories specialize in blogs only. There are also thousands of blog directories online, to be listed in all of them will greatly boost traffic your site's traffic. About 90% of them allow your blogs to be submitted for free.

Article Marketing

Article marketing is an old and proven method. Professional webmasters have been using this method for years and it has given efficient results. First step of the process is to write a well-written and well-researched article. Submit it to free article sites online. Free article sites and directories allow you to attach a resource box in the article submitted, containing the author name, what the author does and his website or blog.. Once it is approved and published, you will earn lifetime traffic. Many blog owners get articles from blog directories and as a rule, they have to attach the resource box also.
Digging for Page Views

Digg vs StumbleUpon

Digg

You need to make friends who will Digg your things and you MUST Digg theirs as well. It's a two way street. Digg will spam you if you only submit from one site. Try submitting an article from your favorite known publication. You have 24 hours to get to the front page.

You can always find something that suits your interests. The following is an example of sites which produced a high amount of Diggs:

Technology - Computer World, Gizmodo, Apple, etc.

World & Business - CNN, Foxnews, Huffingtonpost, etc.

Science - NASA, Sciencedaily, Popsci, Universetoday, etc.

Gaming - Gamesradar, Cracked, Gamespot, etc.

Lifestyle - Gimundo, Reuters, Cracked, etc.

Entertainment - Youtube, Cracked, Variety, etc.

Sports - ESPN, Huffingtonpost, Sportsillustrated, Youtube, etc.

Off Beat - Youtube, Weburbanist, Gizmodo, etc.

Reputation plays a major role at Digg. Players at Digg do not like shouts. If you must, shout no more than once a day. Don't shout the same thing repeatedly and do not shout or expect anyone to Digg something which is more than 24 hours old. That submission is dead and it is likely you will be unfriended and/or blocked by your friends.

The main goal at Digg is to get a home page. It takes a great deal of effort with thousands of Diggs and some submissions before you get your first! As a rule of thumb, for each article you want to submit, Digg 100-300 others. Your first popular article will happen when you pay your dues. No, not with money, but Digging your friends submits.

StumbleUpon

Your article stays within their database so long as it's active. It could be there a very long time.

Same rules apply as Digg. When you surf the net and come across a great article or photo, stumble it!

Make friends and share with your friends. Stumble things that belong to your friends. A thumbs down means that particular item will not come around as much in the random articles. Use the thumbs down wisely! What goes around, comes around! People could do the same thing to you. Be positive! If you're searching randomly and you do not like what you see, go on to the next one!

For a majority of the things submitted, I would have to say Stumble Upon is the place to be out of the two!

Good luck and Stumble It!

Uncle Frank’s Spotlight: Yearblook.com Review

Yearblook is not the typical run-of-the-mill social bookmarking network. No in fact, this site offers its members an attractive incentive to participate in their program.

As a writer, I routinely use social bookmarking networks to promote the articles and reviews that I write. Recently, I learned about and joined a relatively new social bookmarking network called Yearblook that not only allows its members to bookmark their favorite blogs from around the net and in addition win money for the most popular bookmarks that they submit to the network.

Yearblook is going to publish a book that is based on the most popular blogs submitted to Yearblook. The blog that receives the most number of votes during a 24 hour day will be published in the book that Yearblook is going to publish, so that the blogs will endure time itself in the real offline world. Yearblook claims that they will reward the most popular blog bookmark with publication in their book, one winning blog for each of the 365 days of the year.

Upon my first visit to Yearblook, I noticed the clean appearance of the website's homepage. It originally reminded me of another social bookmarking site called DropJack because of the color scheme and page layout. There was not any cluttered pages or hard to find navigation tabs to hinder the experience.

The registration process only requires a user name, current email address and a password. Really, it only takes a couple of minutes to signup for a free Yearblook user account.

Like with most other social bookmarking sites, Yearblook allots their members space to add a personal profile page and other tools to manage the member's own activities when using Yearblook.

Yearblook members can participate in a monthly contest where Yearblook rewards one Yearblook member and one blog writer a cash reward based on the most popular blog submission for the month. The winning Yearblook member will be rewarded a $50.00 cash prize and the winning blog author will receive a $50.00 cash prize for the blog that receives the most number of votes during the month.

I have not been a member of Yearblook for a very long, but so far I have not experienced any major problems with the submission process or using any of the member tools that are provided to all members. Although, Yearblook does warn that there could be some bugs to flush out of the system, because of its new status.

Yearblook is currently not near as big or popular as other such social bookmarking networks online, but that should not be a reason not to give it a try. All websites and new businesses had to start small, before they got where they are today. These smaller networks gives members the opportunity to share their ideas with the webmaster(s), so to build a better network that everyone will enjoy for years to come.

10 Easy Steps to Build a Successful Internet Marketing Social Network

This is the second marketing article in a series of five articles related to Internet marketing that I have written, so to assist those Internet marketing novices and bloggers who really desire learning how to get started on the right foot in this crazy, mixed up world we call the Internet. If you missed the first article, then below is a link to the first article in the series, so you may catch up with the rest of the class:

Understanding Social Bookmarking Services So You Too Can Build A Successful Internet Marketing Network

In this lesson, we will be discussing the importance of friendship on the Internet and in social networks more specifically. While the Internet can be dangerous and scary at times there is a right way and a wrong way to finding and making friends on the Internet without putting yourself in a dangerous situation. We are discussing making friends on the Internet as an additional way to build a successful marketing network and not for any other purpose such as dating or hanging out at the local café.

Step One: Join a Social Bookmarking Network

One of the most valuable lessons that I could teach anyone, is to join at least one social bookmarking network such as one of the following:

StumbleUpon

One of the biggest and most active social bookmarking websites on the Internet with a very friendly community that enjoys light and humorous articles, websites and photos. For me, poetry does not do well on this site, but for some poets, StumbleUpon is the best place to win over new fans of poetry.

Digg

The biggest and most active bookmarking community on the Internet with millions of page views and tens of thousands of new Internet content being shared 24/7 amongst the millions of members. This is the best place to bookmark more serious topics and subjects for the community to read, vote and leave comments on.

Shoutwire
If political and religious websites, photos, articles and topics are your type of thing, then I have found that this is the best social bookmarking community for this sort of thing. Like with other social bookmarking websites this community enjoys other types of bookmarks besides political and religious subjects. You can submit just about any type of bookmark, but the two already mentioned above are the best performing on this site.

Faves

This is the best social bookmarking community to use, so to learn how to use a social bookmarking service. The community is smaller and moves at a slower pace than the other social bookmarking communities that we have already discussed, but is still a useful community to be part of.

Light and humorous articles, websites, blogs and photos rule the day at Faves. Poetry does not do so well here.

Slashdot

This is an excellent social bookmarking community that is heavily involved in anything tech or computers. There are a whole bunch of intelligent nerds and geeks that get their tech news from Slashdot and tech; computer and Internet blogs, websites and articles can do very well here in this community.

Once you have joined a social bookmarking community, then the next thing that you need to focus on is your personal profile page.

Step Two: Read The Terms and Conditions

Be sure to read carefully the Terms and Conditions and any rules that the social bookmarking service has made available to its community members. You do not want to break the rules and risk being banned from using the site and/or service. I know, none of us enjoys reading all of the legal stuff that these websites have for us to read, but it is necessary, so that we don't lose the right to use the service.

Step Three: Creating A Personal Profile Page

Nearly all social bookmarking services allow their members to create and build their own person profile page, so that their members have the chance to introduce themselves to the rest of the social bookmarking community in which they now belong to. With this in mind, it is extremely important to take your time and do this right, because this is your first chance to make a lasting good first impression on those visitors who have chose to visit your profile page.

It is not important to give your real name or location, but it is important to divulge a bit of personal information like your favorite hobbies, books, music and other pieces of personal information such as these things. The reason why this is so important is because it makes your friends and visitors feel like they are getting to know who you are, just like making a real world friend. The better your online friends get to know you, then the stronger and more successful your marketing network will be at the end.

When creating your personal profile page, be sure to include hyperlinks to your personal blogs, favorite articles, and website if you have one. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your marketing network to include other projects that you have going on at the time.

Step Four: Setting Up Your Personal Profile Settings

Nearly every social bookmarking service allows their members the choice of making their bookmarks available to the public or to keep it private (only for personal use/viewing). If you are joining a social network partly due to building a Internet marketing social network, then it is extremely vital to make your bookmarks public, so that other members in the social bookmarking community can visit, read, vote and leave comments on the websites and articles that you have discovered or liked.

Step Five: Getting To Know Your Surroundings

Before you start getting bookmark crazy, you should first take time and explore the social bookmarking community that you have joined. Checkout what other members are discovering on the Internet and take the time to visit, read, vote and leave comments on other members' bookmarks. Explore the forums and groups that many of these social communities have setup for its members to enjoy and interact with each other in. Just get to know who and what other people are doing, so that you will be in the know (in the loop) always.

Step Six: Make New Friends

One of the single most important steps to building and maintaining a successful Internet marketing social network is to make as many friends as possible. Social networking is all about your friends and how many quality friends that you are able to make in the longrun.

One of the best ways to make friends in social networks is to invite anyone to be your friend that has left positive comments on any of your bookmarks that you have added and introduced to the social network(s) that you belong to. Just don't get disappointed if not all of the people that you have invited to be your friend choose to make you their friend in return. Some members of these social bookmarking communities are not interested in making friends, because they are rather using these bookmarking services to replace the traditional search engines, so to discover new and exciting places to visit on the Internet.

Another good way to make quality friends (the kind of friends that will be most likely to visit the articles, websites, videos, games and movies that you discover and bookmark) is to invite any member in the community that routinely bookmarks subjects and topics that are of interest to you. Just remember, not everyone will be interested in making friends, so invite as many members as you are able to, to be your friend. Especially, invite any member who is interested in the same things that you are interested in or write or blog about on the Internet.

Step Seven: Get Personal With Your Friends

It is one thing to invite and make new friends, but it is something else entirely to make new friends with a personal touch. After you have made a few new friends make sure to send each of them a private message, just to welcome them into your friend's network. This type of personal touch makes your new friends feel special and leaves a good impression on them about you.

Step Eight: It's Bookmarking Time!

Now, that you have joined a social bookmarking community, setup your personal profile page, explored your environment and made a few new friends, it is time to start bookmarking your favorite websites, blogs, articles, videos, music and photos. Yes, you can bookmark your own blogs, articles and websites, but don't stop there - bookmark all of the places that is of interest to you whether it's yours or somebody else's.

Try to avoid bookmarking anything or place that contains adult content that children should not see. The places and things that you choose to bookmark will either reflect positively or negatively on your social reputation.

Step Nine: Building and Maintaining A Positive Reputation

As we discussed before, the reputation that you develop on the Internet and especially in the social networks that you are participating in is very important not to screw up. Some people believe that they can have it both ways, but once you develop a good reputation, and then reverse course the other direction, just kiss everything that you worked for good-bye. People do not like peopling who are mean, nasty, crude, or bookmark anything that would generally be unsafe to visit. Be nice and show respect for everyone even those people whom not nice to you. Just ignore those people are disrespectful and move on with your good reputation still intact.

Step Ten: Create or Join A Group

Most of the social networks on the Internet offer tools to its members, so that they can create or join a community group to get to know other members better. The groups vary widely in topics and subjects, but joining or creating one for you is an excellent way to make more friends. The best thing is that these friends share many of the same interests that you have and are more likely to want to visit your blog, website or read an article that you have written.

Step Eleven: Be Helpful

It is very important to be friendly and respectful to everyone that you meet in these social networks no matter if the people that you meet are nice to you or not. Be helpful and help other new members find their way around the social community when they need some help. Always invite anyone that you helped to become your friend as you and that person have already something in common. You both have established communication with one another in the form of helping each other in a time of need. People do remember the kindness of others, even if they say nothing at the time.

This concludes the second article in the series of five Internet marketing articles that are being written, so to help anyone wanting to learn Internet marketing basics and techniques. Bookmark this article for easy reference and subscribe to Nelson Doyle's RSS Feed, so that you do not miss out on the future articles in this series.
