Grooveshark

Grooveshark is a great music sharing community which is completely legal. The interface is really easy to use and is possibly even better than itunes!

There is two main websites. Grooveshark and Grooveshark Lite. Grooveshark Lite is a smaller version of Grooveshark which you don't have to sign up and can listen to any track for free online.

Grooveshark is the full version which you do have to sign up (for free obviously) for and you can also listen to any track for free. Additionally, you can share music, add friends, download music and lots more. You do have to pay for downloading music but as I'll explain in a second, it's still free. How it works is as follows. You download a small free program called Sharkbyte which searches for music on your own computer. It then adds this to the database and any time someone buys that track you get 50% of the cost. Grooveshark takes the other 50% for themselves and pays the artist or record company some money. The 50% that you get is added to your account and you can use this as credit towards downloading songs. Yes, I know it sounds complicated but all that matters is that get to listen and download the music you want for free without the guilty feeling that you're depriving the artist of some money.

Drop.io

Drop.io is a really simple and useful tool for file sharing. It's just like having a password protected 100mb (or more if you upgrade) memory stick everywhere with you (if you have internet access). All you do is upload your chosen files (any format) onto the site then go onto the other computer, go to www.drop.io/ (your chosen name) and effectively download the file.

You can make as many “drop.io s” as you want so I suppose its more like having unlimited 100mb memory sticks with you! There are other features like transferring files between drop.io's and emailing files to your drop.io.

Enjoy writing stories etc, taking pictures, filming videos and maybe making one or two songs just for fun? Well, with Triond you could do all that and get paid for it! Sound good? Read on.

Triond uses a “Pay Per View” system on articles, photos, videos and music that you upload. Basically, they put your content on one of their websites which have adverts and pay you a tiny amount of money for every view. This will add up over time and every month they pay you either via paypal or a check through the post (paypal is faster and more secure so I advise it).

You can upload as much as you like and the more you upload the more you get paid. It may seem a measly amount at first but stick at it and you'll be making worthwhile amounts of money before you know it.

With music, image and video files being in all sorts different formats it's hard to find converting software that actually does what it says, doesn't have hidden costs, puts viruses on your computer or every time you use it, it annoys you with pop ups asking you to upgrade.

You Convert It can convert anything. I mean almost literally. It can convert images, video, music weights, lengths time, distance…I could go on forever.

You just type in your e-mail address, select the file you want converted and what you want it to be converted into and they e-mail the converted file to you once it's finished. It's efficient, easy to use and of course…free.

My Game Builder

Everyone has at some point dreamt of making their own game. Doing anything they want; feature themselves in the game; set it in their own house and, and, and…then realize how difficult it is to actually do. Unless you have programming skills and expensive software which most people don't have, then making your own game is well…impossible. That was until my game builder came along.

It allows complete beginners to "build games" as the name suggests. You draw "tiles" of a variety of sizes which will represent objects and characters in the game. You draw the characters and enemies from different angles so when they are walking they look in different directions.

Simple easy to understand tutorials teach you the basics and more features are unlocked as you become more experienced.

There is also a sort of "online community" of game builders in which you can view and play other people's games and top games are picked every week or so which encourages you to be creative.

Experts may be obviously be disappointed but for complete novices, My Game Builder is a simple, easy to use, fairly powerful tool which will kill a few hours and perhaps start off your career as a game programmer!

Buttonator

Buttonator is a great little tool which generates good looking buttons for your website. You just configure the easy to use settings then click the “show code” button to get a code which you can copy and paste onto your website. Alternatively you can download the button and add it to your website that way.

Before I go I must remind you that the best free "I like it button" is just centimetres away from your mouse. Simply move your cursor over to it (scroll down and it's at the bottom left of your screen) and click it and guess what! The number goes up! Isn't it amazing!

Software judge is a website which by its name you can guess, you judge software! You get to pick from a list of software and you write a small review on what you thought about the product. After your review has been looked over by the site admin your account gets credited between $1 and $50.

Pros: To earn this cash it really is as simply as writing a couple lines of what you liked, what you didn't, a small body of comments, and a conclusion. You then have to give the software a number review on your overall product review, value of money, ease of use, and effectiveness.

Cons: Well there is a few small catches. Firstly the “money” you earn isn't US currency such as you can spend it on anything you want. What you earn is money but you can only spend it on downloadable products such as software or ebooks, or something along those lines. Secondly the software that you have a choice of reviewing is from a relatively small list of programs all of which you have to buy in order to try and review, unless you get clever and download trial editions!

Overall: Ok well say you have a lot of free time to download programs, then review them, then write small articles, then only have the ability to spend your earnings on other programs then this site is for you. What I should mention is that every review that you write is worth at least $1, so unless you are very good at writing reviews you have quite a challenge in the future.

Cash Lagoon

This site give you real money for completing surveys and other offers for other websites. What you do is click an advertisers link and fill out a survey or register for the site. You can earn anywhere from $0.05 all the way up to $100 per task completed.

Pros: This site has a couple of nice and easy to use features. There is a low cash out limit of $2. What this means is that after completing enough offers to get your account balance up to $2 or more you can have the money sent to your paypal account or have the money sent by check. What is also nice is that you can have the money sent to you by paypal. This insures a quick arrival time of your earnings and there are no processing fees.

Cons: Some of the offers ask you to enter your credit card information and other personal information like your address and phone number. In order to get the big payoff offers you must sign up for products and subscriptions. All of which I am not to fond of or comfortable doing. In order to get credit for the offers you have completed you must have your cookies enabled in your browser, and you must clear cookies before and after completing the offer. Cookies can be used to gain personal information about you from your browser, so be wary of this.

Overall: If you stick with the completely free offers on the website you can rack up a few extra bucks. Or if you were planning on signing up or buying a product being advertised on the site, why not get a couple of extra dollars for signing up for it anyway. I recommend this site because it doesn't take much of anything to start completing offers, simply a valid email address.

This site is kind of like triond.com but the major difference is that instead of getting paid per hits on your content you have the option of getting paid upfront. All you have to do with this site is make some kind of media whether it be a text document, music, video, or picture. The site makes money based on how many visitors it has to your content.

Pros: The site offers to estimate how many visitors your content will have so the company can give you the option of getting your money upfront instead of waiting.

Cons: Going back to the option of receiving your payments up front based on an estimation of how many views the site will get, you could be short changing yourself. It is impossible to tell what the future holds for you and your published content, so you might be making out taking the money up front or you could end up loosing money.

I submitted an article to the website to see how much I would be given, it has only been a few days and the article is still pending but when or if it gets approved I will change this article to let you know how much I got.

Overall: I like this site, it reminds me allot of Triond which I have become familiar with. If you like to publish content then definitely check this site out. Who knows, you might just make a name for yourself and earn a little cash doing it.

This site is familiar to cash lagoon. What you have to do is fill out advertisements, surveys, and register for different things. After you have completed these tasks your account on the website will be credited with the proper amount. This site differs from cash lagoon on a couple of points.

Pros: The cash amounts on Cash Crate are on average slightly larger than that on Cash Lagoon. The approval time, at least for me, is significantly less than Cash Lagoon, that means I get my account credited faster.

Cons:There is a bigger cash out limit, it is $10 on Cash Crate. Also there is no option of sending the cash to paypal instead the money gets sent by check. This causes a longer time for the cash to arrive and there will be a check processing fee.

Overall: You might be asking the question “Why is Cash Crate number 2 on this stupid list while Cash Lagoon is number 4?” Well the reason for that is because after experimenting with Cash Lagoon for a little over a week and my account balance is $0.80 (not very impressive, I know!). With Cash Crate I joined about 3 days ago and my balance on the site is $7.55 with $5.85 pending. Not great but I'm almost at the $10 limit!!

Bux offers cash for completing simple and safe procedures. All you have to do is click on a site that is in the surf ads category. Then you stay on the site until the 30 second banner at the top of page is up. That is it you just earned $0.01. Yay!

Pros: It's simple and safe! You don't have to enter any kind of information into the sites you visit. Simply just stay at the site until the timer is up then you receive credit. The payment methods include AlertPay, which eliminates processing fees and fast arrival, or a bux card which is like a gift card.

Cons: The rewards are kind of low but the task is simple and fast. There is a $10 cash out policy meaning you must have at least $10 in your account before you receive your money.

Overall: Although the reward for clicking links is only 1 cent you can gain cash more quickly with the referral program. This program allows you to receive 1 cent for every website your referrals visit. So that means the more referrals you get the better a chance you have to make some big “bux”.

So why is Bux the number one on this list? Well because as I have mentioned before it is fast, easy, and safe! There is hardly any chance of contracting a nasty virus from a spyware or adware ridden website because all you have to do is visit the site and nothing else. You don't have to give any personal information at all!

Consequently I have made a little bit of money which is useful, but at the moment it isn't helping me out a lot. However, having read different comments about the site I have realised that my income will increase over the next couple of months as I become established within the site. Other ways of making money include joining cash back initiatives. Internet Cashback is a good site too, allowing you to receive money back when you buy things online. There are many other sites that do this too.

You can be paid to read e-mails and take part in surveys. There are also many many many sites out there offering freebies and discount codes for popular retail shops. Just type in "cashback", "paid surveys", "freebies" etc into a search engine and you get loads of options to chose from. Please beware though that if you are ever asked to give a small fee or give bank details in any way you should be extremely careful. The best thing to do is sign up to a FREE site and only use paypal or ask for a cheques to be sent to you when you make money instead.

Why not sign up to many different things? Even if you are only making a couple of pounds on each one it all adds up.

Before signing up I was shown how it's possible to make lots and lots of money in the video hosted by an American business man who looked like he was trying to hard to be cool. It looked hopeful.

The main way of making money was by page views, the more page views you get, the more money you make. But to make any serious money, I had to get referrals and I would be paid on their page views, as shown in the help section below, the website promised much.

What I found after over two months of trialing this website is very different. It wasn't so much a socializing website, more of a website full of desperate people trying to get as many friends as possible, no matter incompatible people seemed. This desperation comes from the idea that if they add me as a friend and add a comment on my profile, giving me a page view, I would return the favor - like the hell I would, I'd rather not chat to a middle aged American, a teenage Asian or someone's disco-liking grandmother.

The other greatly annoying part was the endless blogs from my new "friends" and clubs of endless spam telling me how to get 1000 friends or 1000 page views in a week.

As for my earnings after one month? Well, I had only managed to get two referrals. However, I had over 1,500 page views and my referrals had 500. This meant I had managed to make a sum of $0.04, which is approximately £0.02. Great!

Through an official blog, the website claimed that the payout rate was lower, because of many cheaters, this also meant endless entering of "captcha" codes (where you have to enter what code is displayed in a picture) on normal navigation of the site, this made moving around the website very frustrating.

Overall, despite the annoyingly endless cycle of entering security codes, this website does exactly what it advertises to do, allow existing friends to set-up profiles and keep in contact, and it also allows people to chat with new people from around the world, even though about 90% of these only care about the page view you give them. However, with a very plain user-interface, lack of features, endless "make friends" spam, I believe there are many better socializing websites out their.

And if you join to get rich or to make a little money, I think you will be in a hard struggle.

More people are coming to the internet looking for work. This means it is getting harder to find a reasonable domain name. You need to find a name that is catchy and simple. Every business wants a name that corresponds to their business and is displayed in as few words as possible. But it is becoming harder to find simple domain names.

The beauty of getting a domain name is that there is no limit to how many you can buy. So, more people are snatching up several names for a low price. Then, instead of using these names they go out and sell them for a much higher price then what they had purchased them for. Hence, making money!

There are many methods you can go about making this into an internet home business. The most basic way is to find a domain web site like Go Daddy and sell your name. There are people out there that would love to have the name you have to offer. You can list the domain on sites similar to this and it will be up and running. People can then scroll through the list of available domain and buy them from you.

You can also post the name into an auction, somewhat, like, how ebay works. From there you can sit back and watch the price of your name rise up.

The last option you have is to actually build a web site and sell domain names from it. The more domain names you have to offer, the better chance you having with success.
