Needless to say because of the title of my article I did indeed beat my boredom but then once again it struck me down today, hence this article and my first point!

1. No summer job for me so, on the internet searching it for techniques on how to make money online. Found a few sites that were pretty good where you get paid per click and so on but there were also some scam sites! (E.G. AWsurveys.com) Anyways that was all good early on in the summer but last night by accident I clicked www.triond.com on my bookmarks instead of going to another site! “What's this?” I asked to myself and when I got there I remembered. Straight away on to my old content, there it was, only one article but making me money while I did nothing! So first tip for beating boredom? Make money!
2. This one is actually quite fun. I use my imagination to come up with something like an event I have to organise or a party I have to go to, then I set myself a budget, say £100 or £3000, whatever! Then I go on something like ebay and I try to make an outfit for the party using my budget. It's also fun doing it with friends like who can find the weirdest thing for sale online! Once I found gorilla boogers and human toenails! Or you can just imagine you won the lottery and look at things you'll never get….. :'-(
3. This one is a no-brainer! Go find games to play online! There is the obvious such as MiniClipbut then there is the real jewels of the gaming world where you have to find the games yourself on random sites! I won't spoil the fun by naming them!
4. Build a website! I use FreeWebs but there are many others you can use! You can make it about anything you want like dedicate it to a sports team or movie. Maybe a place to chat to your friends? YOUR website, NO limits!
5. Share your knowledge! Go to www.yahoo.com/answers and answer questions that people have asked with your own knowledge or ask your own question you just can't answer!
6. Ok so once again this one is one of them “DUH!” ones but still, it beats boredom and that is watching movies online, funny clips and listening to music. Told you…DUH!
7. Join a chat room or a blog! Don't listen to all these people telling you to not go on chat rooms, most of them are family friendly and full of nice people!
8. Visit bored.com Trust me! You will not be bored after going there!
9. Learn some simple magic tricks, riddles or jokes and then tell your family and friends. The looks on their faces will make you feel better and learning them will occupy you for a while!
10. Last but not least! Don't get bored! If all these suggestions don't work then get outside my friend, your skin needs to see sunlight and your underwear needs a change!

1. College Humor - Currently in college? Remember the years back when? Never been to college? Doesn't matter! Use this site to relive those crazy days or simply laugh at other's misfortunes on this hilarious site with its numerous anecdotes and great links.
2. The Onion - Perhaps the most hilarious website out there. It's a fake newspaper available in both online and print versions (yes, they really print a fake paper!). The stories are totally ridiculous, but if you send the link to an unsuspecting friend the stories are just believable enough that your friend might think you've discovered the most insightful/absurd newspaper ever!
3. Sodaplay - This creative website allows you to manipulate different “models” in many environments. The enjoyment derived from this website will likely depend upon your own creativity in combination with your interest in physics. This site is definitely a lot of fun!
4. Prank Dial - Sitting in front of the computer at work while your friend is on vacation? Send them an automated prank call, free! It's safe, fun, and easy and there are many options, including: voice, language, what you want said, and even the number that will show up on caller ID (so they think someone else is calling!). Overall a simple, easy way to share a laugh with a friend.
5. eBaum s World - Similar to College Humor, but it caters to a broader audience. This site is famous for popularizing the “End of World” flash video (originally created by MIT students) as well as having in stock many ridiculous “never before seen” commercials and such. A must visit for young and old!
6. Newgounds - Their motto is “Everything. By Everyone.” and it is just that. A compilation of videos, games, cartoons, music, and even forums, there is something here for everyone.
7. Icanhascheezburger? - The lolcat fad may be over, but there is something about the way cats wind up in photographs that just makes these little fellas so entertaining. Dogs are great, but its cats that make for the best funny pictures. IF you haven't heard about lolcats, you have to check this site out!
8. Darwin Awards - This satirical website details the escapades of the most foolish human beings. Think you or someone you know has recently made the biggest mistake you can think of? Well, you haven't seen this year's nominees! Ever witness someone doing something incredibly foolish and think “Whoa! They might pay for that someday!” Well they do, and for it they might receive one of these awards.
9. Bragster - A site where you can dare your friends to do things, and, once they have, they can post victory on the internet. Or you can just watch videos that others have posted responding to crazy dares. Overall a rather entertaining website where you can see the bizarre things people will do for their 15 minutes of fame.
10. Funny Exam Answers - We've all heard the urban legends about students bolding answering exams. There is the famous philosophy exam where the professor simply writes “Why?” on the final and the student responds with a simple, “Why Not?” There is also the “What is bravery” exam question answered only by, “This is.” While those myths sound intriguing to any student, do you ever wonder if anyone has had the guts to actually write that stuff on exams. • It really sounds too good to be true, and you'd think it was a joke, but is it? Well, it's not, and Europe will be first to enjoy the benefits of the new technology while no one is investing to bring the technology to America. Is this further proof that America is under the thumb of the oil companies? I think so. But honestly, I want one because it's so darned cute!

There you have it, my first top five stumbles list. I'll be sure to do more of these as it was fun to do and I learned a lot. I was disappointed that no Triond articles came up at all this time, but hopefully that will change.

But on the other hand - is it really that dangerous? Well one can obtain some really really useful information just while getting to know some websites that one would never get interested in. For example.. would you ever get interested in building a birdhouse using staples only? I think I wouldn't... yet I somehow find a site about it and get to know some tricks with those damn staples, whether i want to or not. Later in future this knowledge may become useful.

Many many people still claim that surfing without any closer aim is useless and a waste of time. I don't think so. If I did, would I be writting this now anyway? I guess not. There's a high posibility that there are many people wanting to share their views and tricks that make one's life easier and all you need to do is click a seemingly uninteresting link to get to know that many objects on your desk may be used in creating a nuclear weapon or a spy device.

Being bored at work or while trying to learn seems to be a perfect option to turn your mind off for a few minutes (hours?) and relax a bit. You can do that while sleeping, but you can surf the net and not only relax but also find out that human mind is oh-how-complex and from then on have in mind how complex human beings are.

Isn't that fantastic that nowadays we can find out that much information just by sitting and almost without noticing it clicking the links our friends send us? That raises, without a doubt, the average level of knowledge of a statistic person.

What's wrong then in being bored and stumbling without any aim? I say "be bored"! Be bored and be proud of it! For many of your sceptical friends may not know that the bird sitting by the window is this and that and that it tastes great with this and that, which actually is a national dish of this and that country.

You can also see the ghost of Elvis on the moon (you never knew that he walked on the moon did you?) Amuse yourself with spooky animals and nudist hosts to name but a few.
