Why I Love to Read Triond Articles?

I am new writing for Triond, but I have noticed that I have dedicated more time reading in Triond than writing articles. I got the following question: Why do I prefer to read Triond articles? Here, some reasons:

Short Articles

I have a limited time to spend in the internet. There is a lot of information in competition for my attention. Sometimes I do not need so deep information about one specific topic. The most of the articles in Trion are short in this way I can read many articles in less time. I can read more than five articles in an hour. These articles have very good information using few words.

Easy Reading

The writers use a language easy to understand. I could understand easy technical topics. It is easy to make a commentary about articles.

Good Titles

Titles attract my attention and invite me to read the articles. There are interesting topics for all kinds of people. In addition, there are good writers.

Links

The most of the articles have links on the information they deal with and can immediately seek more information. If in the article are some "strange words," they link to a dictionary and you can look the meaning and other information about the word. Related articles are too useful too.

Presentation

Articles have a good font sized letters that facilitate reading and good illustrations

Thanks to good writers who enjoy sharing their knowledge. Good job, guys!

Learning is Free, Discover Podcasts

I used to be an avid talk radio listener. No matter the politics or the topic, I tuned in to AM radio because, at the end of each day, I felt like I had learned something. Sometimes I had learned about the topics discussed, sometimes I learned about myself and where I stand.
The problem with talk radio was that I was bound in a variety of ways to the content. I was bound by the topic, by the host and by the scheduling. If I was depressed, sometimes listening only made my mood worse. If I was in the mood to hear some serious news, the host would be talking about his anger at the size of Halloween candy bars.

One weekend I took a trip to Best Buy and spent some gift money on an iPod Touch. I had no idea that my life was about to change - and I am only slightly exaggerating.
After loading up my favorite tunes, I discovered that I still had over 10 gigabytes of space available. I had heard about podcasts and was somewhat interested. I searched through some of the more popular offerings in the iTunes podcast section and downloaded a few.
A podcast, for those who don't know, is essentially a talk radio show - some of the newer shows are also done as videos. These are not necessarily well produced radio-style programs. A podcast can be produced with a simple microphone and free computer audio recording software. Since new episodes are added often, you can use your computer or media player software to subscribe and automatically download new episodes of each podcast as they are made available.

Imagine any expert on any topic being able to create a talk radio program specifically about their interest and knowledge. This is only the beginning. Authors have podcasts, doctors have podcasts, even churches have podcasts. Not all podcasts are limited to talk-show format. Some podcasts are comparable to audio books or old serial radio shows.
Podcasts range from graduate course material to the obscene and everything in between. The best part is that nearly all podcasts are completely free.
Perhaps the reason that podcasts haven't been discovered by the world at large is due to several misconceptions.

Podcast enjoyment does not require an iPod.

You can listen to podcasts via the host's website. Just click the play button. You can also download the audio files and put them on any digital media player or CD.

Podcast enjoyment is difficult.

If you want to make subscribing to podcasts extremely easy, buy a portable media player that advertises the podcast support on the packaging. Microsoft Zune and iPod both support one-click subscription to podcasts, but there are others. Software is also software that makes subscribing to podcasts easier.

Podcast enjoyment is for geeks.

There are hundreds of thousands of podcasts being produced in all languages and topics. There are knitting podcasts, equestrian podcasts, business management podcasts, religious podcasts, etc., etc., etc.

The best part of podcast enjoyment is that it is a totally personal experience. As you drive around town, exercise or just listen as your work, you can ditch the usual radio or music experience and listen to something new every day. The content is not only new, but guaranteed to meet your individual interest.

If you are looking to get started enjoying podcasts, give Juice a try. It is a free program that allows you to subscribe to, and download, podcasts. PodcastDirectory.com is the most logical place to find a podcast you are interested in.

Advertising Through Videos

YouTube is a great place to advertise, wether it is a referral link, new site, or a new product. Lately, all over YouTube there is more and more referral links to sites that pay you for doing offers or getting referrals. Think about how many YouTube videos that have thousands or millions of views! Right now, the most viewed YouTube video has 90,000,000 million views! All you have to do is comment there, become a friend of the user and have your username spread all over YouTube and people with view your channel.

Sometimes people use videos, saying how to hack a site to get free stuff but they just want you to join the site and view their video. Sometimes people can't make a video, but many PC computers come with Windows Movie Maker. I great way to create videos and include pictures and words.

Above all, advertising is the key to making money online, if you know the secrets, you will succeed such as people always refer to having google, which is one of your best friend due to a search engine.

The internet is something everyone can use to their advantage.

How to Design a Website the Easy Way

Don't begin building a new website by sitting at the computer and using software to design the look of the page. It sounds like a good start but you'll find it's really a good way to make a bad start!

Top Down, Not Bottom Up

You start the build of a house not by laying bricks but by drawing plans and, in a rather simplified form, that's how you start the design of a website.

First you need to know how many pages you want, so begin by writing 'Home' on a sheet of paper and list underneath the other pages all on the same line. Now connect them by lines to the home page. Usually each separate page will then have pages that flow from it so put these on successive lines beneath - see the diagram at the end for guidance.

So how do you know how many pages you want? You usually don't, you will have to think and guess but be prepared to change the layout as new pages suggest themselves.

This skeleton of your site is vitally important so take your time and try to get it right from the start.

The Page Template

Draw a rectangle in the approximate ratio of a page, this is usually 4:3 or, for A4 paper try 8 inches wide and 6 inches down.

Get some coloured pencils and play around with the design until you get the look of the page the way you want. You can, if you want, make dummy elements with a graphics program, print them and then cut them out. This creates a very intuitive and easy way to experiment with the design.

You are usually designing the navigation position and how you want it to look, what you want in the borders and what banner (header) and footer you want. The more accurately you can picture these, the better will be the finished page. Obviously leave space for the text area which will be different on each page and, to get the look right, print some nonsense text for this content.

At this stage it's easy to play around with the look to get the effect that you want. Try repositioning elements and different colour schemes and, if you can, try to get an idea of the way the graphics will look.

Colour schemes

Colour is never (or shouldn't be) left to chance or last minute decision so spend time working out what colours you want and then write them down either as a list of colour names or hex values.

It is desirable to have perhaps four or five colours and no more than that. Again, colours are important so it is worth spending time to get the colour scheme right.

Graphics: The Fun Part

Once you arrive at this stage the design part is done and you can concentrate on the first stage of building. Use your graphics program to make the pictures and navigation items that you want. It's best to prepare one set as masters and one set to use.

It's important to have all your graphics complete and ready to slot into place before you start the build so spend time completing and optimising each picture and navigation element.

Something to Say

Last, before the build, you need to write the content for each page in a text editor or word processor. Finish writing and then spellcheck each page before putting it aside for three days.

After the three days read it again slowly and see if you still like it and then look for any silly mistakes that you might have made. If you haven't done it this way before you will amazed at what you find!

The last thing you do with text is to spellcheck it again before you use it.

Now Build It!

Now is the time to get your software out and start building. You have a design, you have the graphics and you have the text. All you have to do now is slot them together and concentrate on getting the actual building and the mechanics of the site right.

By working this way you have a sensible and logical workflow that will let you spend quality time with one part of the site at a time to ensure that you get it right and make the building of your website as easy as possible.

10 Free&easy Ways to Beat Boredom Using Your PC

So first off a bit of background to this content. Last night, 12/08/08, I was bored beyond belief. So then I wondered how can I beat boredom?

Needless to say because of the title of my article I did indeed beat my boredom but then once again it struck me down today, hence this article and my first point!

No summer job for me so, on the internet searching it for techniques on how to make money online. Found a few sites that were pretty good where you get paid per click and so on but there were also some scam sites! (E.G. AWsurveys.com) Anyways that was all good early on in the summer but last night by accident I clicked www.triond.com on my bookmarks instead of going to another site! “What's this?” I asked to myself and when I got there I remembered. Straight away on to my old content, there it was, only one article but making me money while I did nothing! So first tip for beating boredom? Make money!

This one is actually quite fun. I use my imagination to come up with something like an event I have to organise or a party I have to go to, then I set myself a budget, say £100 or £3000, whatever! Then I go on something like ebay and I try to make an outfit for the party using my budget. It's also fun doing it with friends like who can find the weirdest thing for sale online! Once I found gorilla boogers and human toenails! Or you can just imagine you won the lottery and look at things you'll never get….. :'-(

This one is a no-brainer! Go find games to play online! There is the obvious such as MiniClipbut then there is the real jewels of the gaming world where you have to find the games yourself on random sites! I won't spoil the fun by naming them!

Build a website! I use FreeWebs but there are many others you can use! You can make it about anything you want like dedicate it to a sports team or movie. Maybe a place to chat to your friends? YOUR website, NO limits!

Share your knowledge! Go to www.yahoo.com/answers and answer questions that people have asked with your own knowledge or ask your own question you just can't answer!

Ok so once again this one is one of them “DUH!” ones but still, it beats boredom and that is watching movies online, funny clips and listening to music. Told you…DUH!

Join a chat room or a blog! Don't listen to all these people telling you to not go on chat rooms, most of them are family friendly and full of nice people!

Visit bored.com Trust me! You will not be bored after going there!

Learn some simple magic tricks, riddles or jokes and then tell your family and friends. The looks on their faces will make you feel better and learning them will occupy you for a while!

Last but not least! Don't get bored! If all these suggestions don't work then get outside my friend, your skin needs to see sunlight and your underwear needs a change!

Firefox Basics

This is a small tutorial on how to get Firefox 3, and make it so much easier to use. This tutorial helped my dad, and im sure it might help you. So what are we waiting for? Lets go ahead and start!

Downloading

As most of you know, Firefox is a tremendous improvement and replacement for Internet Explorer. And click the "Free Download" button. Once you set it up and install, go ahead and open it up!

Adding Usability

Ok. We get Firefox open. Set it as your default browser, and follow these instructions:

Go to addons.mozilla.org

Search for and download the following addons

Adblock Plus

Fast Dial

Greasemonkey

Stylish

Sxipper

Foxmarks

Restart Firefox.

Once that is done, lets go on to setting these up.

Configuring the Addons

Go to Tools>AdBlock Plus, and then go ahead and block the names of annoying sites that put out ads. Oh, by the way, subscribe to the Easylist subscription. Here are a few filters you should add:

adbrite

yimg

adultfriendfinder

And then go ahead and lets configure Fast Dial. Oh wait, you dont need to. Open up a new tab by using Ctrl+T, and there it is. Click on any of the 12 squares, and you can add a button to go to up to 12 common sites you use. You can add styles and scripts to modify the appearance and function of certain websites by going to http://userstyles.org/ (Stylish) http://userscripts.org/ (Greasemonkey) These addons are great. Sxipper is a password manager. There is too much to explain about it, so go ahead and configure it. Lastly, Foxmarks is a bookmark sync program that lets you sync two FF bookmarks into one account on the Foxmarks server.

Use It!

Firefox is a great browser. I have unlocked almost no potential to it. Use it, and you will soon figure out that its an AWESOME program, and you will love it to death. You can customize it even further with more addons, themes, and other stuff.

Bye!

I hope you enjoyed reading this guide. I had a lot of fun writing it, and I hope these 2242 letters/characters helped you out. Stay tuned for more tutorials on Firefox, and have a great day. =)

Thanks.

How to Make Your Website Look Professional

Don't Advertise on Your Main Site

If your main-site has ads on it, it only shows people your intention is to make money of them. Your forum can have ads, your articles; every other page can have ads, but not the main site. Look at Triond, look at Google, look at any site that looks professional, you will see no advertisements. If you display ads on the main-site it is like asking people money to have a first impression. A shop also doesn't charge you to come in, right. Even if the person doesn't really pay for the ads, he or she will feel it like he or she is doing you a favor. If you need to resort to advertising on your main site, it doesn't show any professionalism.

Have Your Own Domain Name

You need to register your own domain name. It will cost you money, but let's face it if you don't want to invest money in your website, it doesn't show much confidence. Own domain names in general are easier to remember. Compare Triond to my blog, Jotter Scalems. I confess, it doesn't have to look professional and I don't want to earn or spend money on it. That's why it looks like it does now. You have to spend money to make money they say. That doesn't mean you have to register an expensive name on the Internet. A cheap one will cost you around 10 dollars a year. That is less than one dollar a month.

Be Straightforward and Easy to Use

Don't waste your time on gadgets. Most people have one purpose when they come to your site and they don't have a lot of patience. If I had to scroll down to use google, I'd swap to yahoo in no time. Triond is another good example. All you need is a couple of basic things that people can rely on. The contact button shouldn't be big, by now we know that we can scroll down and find the contact button somewhere on the bottom of the page. If you sell dictionaries, the people who want to visit the site will want to buy dictionaries. They don't want to hear about how your company has sold dictionaries for six generations. If you decide to add a search option on your site, be sure it works well. You're better of with good categories than with a search option that doesn't make any sense. If someone searches for Japanese-English dictionary, he needs a Japanese-English dictionary. If that search shows him two Japanese-Japanese dictionaries, two English-Japanese dictionaries, one Japanese-English and English-Japanese in one, one pocket English and so on, he won't be happy. In this case you could use click buttons to select the languages and it would work much better.

Do Not Brag About How Great Your Site is

Good websites don't need to tell you how many people they have helped. They don't display stories of happy users. Your website should have fame, not claim fame.

Defining Your Search for Better Results

With so many sites out there it's getting more and more difficult to actually get a search to come out with what you actually want. So what can you do to make the specific information that you want? Well make sure you search with all the right words! I know about Google the most so I am going to show you how to define your search so then you can get the right results which you are looking for.

Step 1

Load up Google.

What do you want to search for? For this case I want to search “Growing Vegetables” so instead of just typing it in the bar look to the left and you should see in small writing something that says “Advanced Search”, click on it.

Step 3

So you should see a form, fill in what you want to search in the top bar, now I'm thinking about either growing Tomatoes or Potatoes so in the third row it says any other words so I'm going to put up Tomatoes and Potatoes.

Step 4

So you now have what you want to search, but are there any words which you don't want to be included, if so put them in the box that is in the 4th row down. Select what type of results you want and then press “advanced search” and it should go to a normal search page.

Well I got this:

12 Steps to Growing Your Own Potatoes

You can define your searching for anything and even with what I showed you, you can still define your search even further! For example with tomatoes you could say big tomatoes. It is very simple and useful as you wont have to go searching through pages of information.

Turn the Internet Into Cash

The internet is presenting many opportunities, more people are turning to the internet to make cash. This means that there are thousands of web sites. Before you can have an internet home business you need to register a domain name that is why there is a business in selling domain names.

More people are coming to the internet looking for work. This means it is getting harder to find a reasonable domain name. You need to find a name that is catchy and simple. Every business wants a name that corresponds to their business and is displayed in as few words as possible. But it is becoming harder to find simple domain names.

The beauty of getting a domain name is that there is no limit to how many you can buy. So, more people are snatching up several names for a low price. Then, instead of using these names they go out and sell them for a much higher price then what they had purchased them for. Hence, making money!

There are many methods you can go about making this into an internet home business. The most basic way is to find a domain web site like Go Daddy and sell your name. There are people out there that would love to have the name you have to offer. You can list the domain on sites similar to this and it will be up and running. People can then scroll through the list of available domain and buy them from you.

You can also post the name into an auction, somewhat, like, how ebay works. From there you can sit back and watch the price of your name rise up.

The last option you have is to actually build a web site and sell domain names from it.
