Popsci

The only science and technology web tutor that includes exchange of predictions on different science and technology topics. This site is best viewed with adult supervision for ready explanation on some topics like do-it-yourself science projects among others.

Nine Planetsg

As the tagline states: One star, eight planets and more. This is the definite resource for everything that you would like to know about planets. This website includes pictures, statistics, sounds, movies and other related information about planets.

Sciencentral

Sciencentral offers in-depth information on science and technology news and videos. Includes an option to receive alerts upon subscription to emails and podcasts.

Science Mag

This is the ultimate resource for highly respected science and technology journals.

Inner Body

Unlike other websites, this web portal takes you to a fun and interactive tour on human anatomy. This is a very kid friendly website which can also be used by adults as additional reference on parts of the human body.

Hhmi

A fun and practical online resource for learning everything about science for kids. Includes a list of suggestions to guide the parents in helping their kids work on some projects and appreciate learning science topics.

1. NewScientist

This is my preferred website for science news. It is mostly free of charge despite the fact that some articles require a subscription. The information is presented in medium length articles or video. Subjects covered are very diverse and very interesting.

The "latest headlines" section give you a quick access to the latest science news. The perfect site to visit at your lunch break.

2. Popular Science

Popular science is a little less popular than NewScientist but still very interesting. Medium length articles on a very wide range of subjects and all of them are free of charges. However, many articles are a little more on the fiction side of science but that doesn't mean they're not interesting.

3. Scientific American

On the more serious side, this offers in depth article on a variety of science subjects. For some reasons, I visit this site a little less often that the 2 previous one but it is still a very interesting site.

4. Nova

If you prefer video instead of text, this site is for you. They have a rich archive section where you can look at video classified by interest. They also have interactive pages where you can, for example, simulate the impact of a meteor on nearby regions.

5. Space

If astronomy is your thing, this is the site. The top stories section give you access to the latest news in astronomy and the "featured" section offers more in depth articles. Every shuttle missions are covered in great details and there is also an easy access to Nasa live TV.

It is called Death-The Last Taboo, it features an "Interactive Autopsy" section, found here . If you are an anatomy and science buff then this site is great for educational purposes.

I ran across it the other day and found it very informative. Personally I find autopsies to be somewhat unnecessary, yet at the same time in some cases they do serve a purpose.

Example:`If a person is in a car accident or dies of unknown causes. Normally I would say leave the business of death to the morticians, but in some way or another, the subject affects and fascinates us all.

Why?

Human curiosity, and the pursuit of ever increasing amounts of knowledge. If you are in the medical field then this site may be a good tool. I believe if we better understand human anatomy, we can better prevent and treat diseases. I do not claim to be an expert in the field, but I do like to learn.
